I tagged 2NE1 because they were still in the video (in the top 8 groups to be exact, which were the only ones I tagged)

LOL then why are they in the video?  :wth:

i'm not asking you, i'm just confused

Based on past popularity I suppose, I mean it'd be pretty hard for them to decrease majorly in popularity only from one year, especially after a more than successful 2014

i'm only addressing the groups i'm a fan of since i don't know enough about the other groups' popularity

but i'm actually surprised that Mamamoo made it that high on the list, but i'm super happy they're up there! tbh i thought they were less popular than Twice but maybe i'm overestimating Twice's fandom since it has only been like 3/4 months since their debut.

and i expected Apink to be #2  so nothing to be said there :)

besides those two, the general progression of popularity is accurate, maybe some groups could be switched up, but i think it's mostly accurate (but then again, who knows since i can't really judge all the groups' popularities, there are too many!! lol)

Not accurate at all

^^^^

Only #1, #2 are accurate.

Are they seriously saying 2NE1 was higher than Sistar when 2NE1 had NO COMEBACK?

Lmfao. CL's comeback also didn't do well enough to place 2NE1 as #3. Considering the digital success Sistar kept up whereas 2NE1 had no activities outside of CL debut, that alone invalidates this list.

Also, Red Velvet is way too high compared to certain Veteran groups. Why is Twice so low when their physicals slayed and their digitals have amazing longevity?

Also, how is 4Minute so high? 4Minute and Miss A had very, very similar sales this last year but the difference in them is HUGE on the list.

SMDH, is all.

Well 2NE1's popularity in 2014 was huge and it would be impossible to knock them down more than one spot. And Red Velvet are in the right area when it comes to a position on that ranking considering they released an EP and a full album, both of which did wonders for their popularity. Twice is low because they literally just debuted, wait for a comeback and I'm sure they'll be closer to the number 10 spot.

Also 4Minute's comeback was at a time where they didn't have much competition, if any. So maybe that had something to do with it, I mean Miss A had JYP and Exo to contend with so idk if that would affect their position on this ranking.

Eh how the hell does Sistar only have 2 for public recognition?????? UHM nah

Also I'm pretty sure orange caramel is considered a separate identity from afterschool now?

2 for public recognition is good, considering that means they'd rank second or so for public recognition

CL never had a comeback.

and A pink are not about 2NE1 comeback or not

they're not more popular than 2NE1 either.

CL had a solo debut, which was obviously what I was referring to ._.

APink is more popular in terms of fandom. In terms of digitals, 2NE1 are obvious better, but since 2NE1 didn't release any songs in 2015 year, their digitals can't be stronger than APink's for 2015.

If the video was basing it on OVERALL popularity, then yes, 2NE1 should be #2.

But the video was ranking them based on physical and digital sales as well as MV views.

Seeing as 2NE1 released absolutely nothing, there is no way they could be ranked that high based on digitals, physical sales, and MV views of 2015.

Now, if the maker of the video was basing it on overall popularity, yes, 2NE1 is more popular than APink. But the video was not basing it on overall popularity, but on 2015 releases and sales. 2NE1 did not release anything outside CL debut, which didn't do well enough to put 2NE1 at #2. Therefore it makes no sense to have 2NE1 so high as opposed to Sistar, APink and AOA.

I mean, basing it on overall popularity, the top 3 are SNSD, 2NE1 and Sistar. Basing it on sales from 2015, it's SNSD, AOA, Sistar and APink...
