maybe i'm not paying attention very well but is the princess related to Junki? I thought they were siblings but you could cut the sexual tension with a knife i swearrrrrr.

IU was so cute in ep 4. I ship her so hard with KHN lol

kang haneul's charachter is married to his half-sister? i think correct me if i'm wrong

i also think the princess is the one his mother was going to kill when they were young but he saved her and ending up getting the scar now poor baby is outcasted

Ok so I've now finished ep 3 and i just gotta say

I really like the show. Like normally I'm lazy and I wait enough days for there to be recaps so I can watch and read at the same time and skip pointless shit but damn, like I'm so hooked with this show, here I am just refreshing for subs. The odd ost cuts are much better now, as in there's less of that rando eng scattered everywhere. But I can't with the camera angles/"artistic" choices. LMAO they're classic modern family/park recs emulations and it kills the serious scenes for me. Like ok in a comical scene, sure, it adds to the atmosphere but damn in that tense ass ritual bit when they zoomed into the fam bam sitting up top i was like lol can they not hahahaha.

Nop, I think he's only 8th sister, she was listed like that but I'm not sure actually but if she's daughter of Taejo then they are half sibilings but, again, she's only mentioned as WW sister.

KH character is married to HS cousin, not half-sister. And nope, the princess was not supposed to be the one who the mother was going to kill, she didn't wanted him to marry again because less power and most enemies for her son's to get the throne so, she did that to Soo to manipulate him (the king) but it didn't work.

found the relationship chart, so she is the 8th prince's sister and one of the queen's daughter. I think she is 4th prince's half sister

So hard to keep up.

Does anyone know who is the crown prince's mother?

Didnt she die when giving birth to crown prince?

They are related she is LJK's half-sister from the King....he is the 8th's prince sister with both parents though

I watched the Special Episode of Moon Lovers, and it says there that in Goryeo it's normal formal for relatives to get married to keep the Royal Family together.

That's why she called her "Orabeoni" or Oppa in modern times.

Seohyun+joohyuk

Starting watching this yesterday and I love it! Also when are eng subs usually available?

Haesu is so cute, I like her scenes with the 10th prince. They're funny. The thing I don't really get is the 8th's prince attraction to her like dude you have wife? And why is Queen Yoo so cold towards the 4th prince?

china will eat moon lovers right up lol. my parents are dedicated c-drama watchers (and occasionally watch k-dramas) and this drama is right up their alley.

I've seen the chinese version before and really enjoyed it, but I don't really understand where all these people putting it on a pedestal came from.... on the translation sites like NB/KPKF/PC, there seems to be sooo many people who keep talking about how moon lovers can never compare to BBJX, the chinese version is soooo much better, IU can't hold a candle to cecilia liu, and................ do those people not remember the first 2 episodes of BBJX?! lordy, the first 30 minutes of BBJX is painful. it makes me feel like some people are simply latching on as a way to put down moon lovers even more...

after watching the 3rd ep with subs, I think the two version will have more differences than similarities. moon lovers is so violent and intense!! it makes me feel like I'm watching a movie rather than a drama.

I feel there's it's a big difference in Chinese and Korean cultures and therefore, a different approach to creating a hystorical drama: the atmosphere of these two adaptations is completely different and they were made with different intentions from the start.

Chinese series are really deep and profound from the start. It has slow meditative calm dignity, characters don't act like modern men and women, they are totally the people from some ancient golden age - their movements are elegant, their voices are misical and appealing to ear. The plot moves in it's own pace without any unnecessary stuff. It's also very balanced: the heavy dramatic parts and the light amusing ones. Everything has the reason to be on the screen. The music nicely accompanies the image.

Korean version is more funny, ambitious and fast. There's a lot of characters changing one another in each scene, the action moves with energetic speed. Some characters behaves a little too 'free' for persons of their hystorical time and status. The love-lines also made their appearence very fast and they are distinctive. Their reaction is always a bit too much, many emotions, tears and special visual effects to make the viewers interested and some minor fanservice to help. Many close-ups, focus on the face

So it's just a matter of personal preference - someone's mentality is closer to Chinese meditative version and some like Korean adventurous one

BTW I'm not saying one version is better than the other. I like both. These are just some thoughts I had when I was thinking about these two series  :) I may be wrong

I watched the 1st episode and I don't think IU was bad. I have to admit Baekhyun's acting made me cringe at first lol but I kinda got used to it and I think it's part of the character too.

The beginning is kinda rushed or not well explained imo. I was a little bit lost, I want to rewatch it.

They tried to introduce everyone as fast as possible which is why they released ep 1 and 2 on the same day... so just watch it consecutively and call it one episode. episode 3 was REALLY good.. hopefully people watch the reruns and give it a chance because the show really picked up and I am already in love

Yeah, the love line between Haesoo and Wangwook developed way too quickly. I though that the romantic scenes in the teasers wouldn't appear at least until the 5th episode. Wangwook's my favourite male character but the fact that he's falling for Hajin after such a little time of knowing her while his wife is sick (and also her cousin)... I really want to despise him for that.

anyways IU's acting was yet again average/ok in this episode I just didn't like the crying scene at the beginning... it looked really fake/bad

Finally finished all three episodes. Here's a choppy paragraph of some of my thoughts:

3rd prince is way more interesting in this version. OST is ho-hum. What did they do to the 14th prince?  Baek and Jisoo are my least favorite. Baek's acting is not very good. But he's the 10th prince so I'm not that upset, lol. I'm neutral on IU. She's okay. The one crying scene in the forest was awful imo. LJK is awesome. Loved the ending of episode 3. Overall, I'm enjoying it so far.

Please tell me that nothing happens between IU and the prince that has a wife. Or at least that the relationship between the wife and IU is okay. I can't handle this. Fuck that prince (8th?? I think)

So far nothing has happened but there are feelings developing there that's for sure. I feel bad for Lady Hee (wife) cause she's sick and all and she's so nice and she doesn't deserve this from the 8th prince. Lady Hee's relationship with Haesu (IU) is okay right now, Haesu is like a daughter to her.

That fight at the end of ep 3 was epic lmao. I didn't thought he would actually fight them... and beat their ass. How can he even win this fight !? Instead of making him look so strong it made those assassins look so weak for me lol they can't even fight for shit !

I really like IU's character, 8th prince is perfect, like too perfect, and 4th prince is the most interesting one for me (of course).
