I am never ever gonna watch a drama again without knowing for sure who gets the girl.

I AM FUCKING BAWLING FOR CHILBONG! SEON JOON IS A PRETTY NAME MY ASS.

this drama smh and I was recommending it to my friends who became emotionally invested too.

next time I should finish the series first before recommending it to the high heavens

Your Minho gif perfectly describes my feelings right now lol.

guys

guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuys guyss

It's about the journey, not the destination.

right?

right???

the journey, which had a large 15-episode bridge connecting 6 to the end of 21, from whose height we could just barely make out the storyline's potential far off in the unreachable distance.

I'm going to be completely honest and say that I didn't even watch the past 4 episodes. I mentioned this while back...

about how obvious this was going to be. The only mistake here was something I foresaw over a month ago

I wish they weren't so upfront about centering the entire drama around who Najeong's husband is. The romance doesn't contribute toward the nostalgic aspect of looking back on youth and being in the 90's, I feel distracted by it. Maybe this would have been less of a nuisance if it wasn't so obvious that he is, in fact, Trash oppa. This series has a thing for childhood friends and couples who always argue.... I mean.... really... no attractive-polarity between her and Chilbong whatsoever.

I guess I shouldn't have expected as much

The thing is, I can't blame her for feeling this way only because every episode, the question WHO IS THE HUSBAND??????? is shoved at us, and ends up distracting the viewer from all the other well-developed side-stories and segments. 1997 laid the spotlight for some great scenes and narratives that were not romance-related, but in 1994 all the non-romance scenes have turned into some drawl of lines, not because they are pointless, but because the romance has become some separate entity that doesn't entirely complement or flow with the rest of the messages on the show and the viewers end up taking preference.

if they just told us that the husband was going to be obvious, and we should just enjoy the rest of the show, maybe the turnout would be better

if they wanted to play up the WhoIsTheHusband game in order to increase viewer rate THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE IT NOT SO FUCKIGN PREDICTABLE, YET MANAGED TO MAKE SENSE I MEAN WHY DID I WATCH IN THE FIRST PLACE HUHH WHY

It was filmed nice, nonetheless. You couldn't go too wrong with such a lovable concept.

Sigh. Pay up bitches.

I wish it wasn't like this.

....

Sigh. This drama went from the best drama of the year to one of the worst dramas I've ever seen in a few short episodes  :omgwtf:

So Trash was the husband? Who do I pay to find and thoroughly bitch-slap the producers:>_>:

It was amusing. The actual ending was always there. ALWAYS. Na Jeong has NEVER shown that much interest in Chibong. The end game was always obviously Trash which is why I never got invested in the triangle. To the point that the writers were basically poking fun at Team Chibong's desperation in the last episode (the 2002 world cup betting scene).

Ngl, the Viki comments made me happy because it was deserved. Stop trying to force a show to go a direction you think it should go and just enjoy the direction it takes you. It makes for better storytelling and allows writers to actually develop a proper story without feeling the need to pander to the audience. What made Nine such a great show is that they didn't pander and stuck to their beats regardless of the absurdity of the show at times.

I loved the last episode. The show got rid of the triangle mess and focused on what made the show great and they wrapped it up well.

I only watched the first episode of this drama, but would anyone be willing to tell me what became of Baro's character? like did he end up with a guy or what? the dramabeans recap of the finale said nothing.

He married a girl. The writers were just trolling us making us believe he was gay but he wasn't.

If you ignore the romance trolling, is there enough material outside of that to keep it interesting?  I mean, I really liked Beethoven Virus because it gave everyone their own storyline and really developed the characters, even though the lead didn't end up with the guy I liked more.

id say yes. i really love the side stories and the first part of the drama. it just dragged too long because of that freaking love triangle and they kinda sacrificed some of the characters in the end (well at least for me. i really think they murdered my fave character ugh). so i think putting the love triangle and the cursed ending side, it's a very good drama.

Just wanted to say that this is the best korean drama I have ever seen. I'm a guy and I grew up in Korea during the 90's so this was a trip down memory lane, especially with the song selections. The ending was superb and it makes me appreciate the special relationship I have with my wife.

The drama used stand in actors. They probably filmed the wedding scene multiple times after each "potential husband" was crossed off. It's why it was pointless to try to guess who the husband was from the head less guy.

LOLOL

now that I know who she will end up with, I can watch it without heartbreak and disappointment

Haha that's how I watched it too! And it was a great drama bc I watched it for the characters and journey since I already knew who the end couple was. And tbh it was really obvious. While chilbong was a nice character na Jung never fell for him or liked him as a potential boyfriend. It's why I was so confused with all the shipping bc there never really was a love triangle since na Jung always looked at oppa and he liked her too. Now if he didnt like her then it might have been a different story. Like even 1997 had a better love triangle bc shi won didnt know who she liked or wanted to be with and she dated both guys.

Also guys next time look at the credits and see whose name comes after the main girl. Usually that's a hint to the end couple. In this case Jung woo was the one named after her.

Anyway my only complaint was the drama felt too long bc it did not need to be over 60 minutes per episode. Some even hit an hour and 40 minutes. The shorter episodes I felt were better and went by quickly.
