Who do you think is Najung's husband

  1. 1. Who do you think is Najung's husband?

Episode 6

If Baro turns out to be the gay character, this drama won't feel anymore different than 1997. I understand that they're trying to add new themes and everything but the love square here is too obvious as opposed to last season, where it was only a little obvious. I really hope to finish this drama but it feels like they are playing the same cards.

Hey guys, I'm halfway though 9 and I haven't watched 10

Is it possible for anyone to tell me (spoiler-free) if there are any true movements/twists to the plot so far?

Maybe I'm being impatient, but I have the same-cycle vibe as '97 and not really feeling this drama :/ not that it's bad, but if it's going to be a slice-of-life kind of deal with easter egg morals inbetween, I want to know when it's time to drop out

I wish they weren't so upfront about centering the entire drama around who Najeong's husband is. The romance doesn't contribute toward the nostalgic aspect of looking back on youth and being in the 90's, I feel distracted by it. Maybe this would have been less of a nuisance if it wasn't so obvious that he is, in fact, Trash oppa. This series has a thing for childhood friends and couples who always argue.... I mean.... really... no attractive-polarity between her and Chilbong whatsoever.

I guess I shouldn't have expected as much

I read a comment that pointed out that HaeTae is the only one other male than SCP wearing a wedding ring. If he's actually NJ's husband, that would be a good plot twist. Plus, what would be the point of making Trash the husband? I haven't even watched '97, but it's been spoiled so if you ask me, it would be too obvious and just repeat the same type of story and that's not entertaining.

That's how I've been feeling... I desperately want that twist like in Dream High, but I'm afraid of getting disappointed. The twist would save the drama tbh, because the patterns right now are too clear.

I swear it's not Chilbong, as much as I want it to be you poll voters are wrong!!11 I'll bet someone 50k won that it's not him

Yes, thank you! These two have been treating each other a certain way for years and now all of a sudden, they caught feelings? Ugh, no I can't.

Well, Najung has always kinda liked him, but he's been treating her like his actual sister since they were kids, so it's kinda creepy...

When he looks at her in the show now it's the same as always, but when he's forced to think of how she likes him he gets this kinda sad "Idk what to do" look, which I guess people are interpreting as "Idk what to do because I like her too"? That doesn't make sense lol

You people are choosing the sensible reason, but I'm banking on getting disappointed. My 50k offer still stands.

I have this lurking feeling that Chilbong is the guy we want to root for, but it's just not happening. Of course, we still have enough episodes left to change that, but I always hear some nagging sprinkled around the show that "first love never works out" (not sure what that says for Najung liking Trash, though.)

One episode is not enough this week, someone please

I will take that offer and bet 50k myself that either Chilbong or HaeTae will be NJ's husband. How many episodes usually show a week?

Two episodes a week on friday and saturday nights korean time, and I'm just betting that it's not chilbong, you gotta pick one gurl (I need to get more money too lol)

I'm on the fence about whether or not it's gonna be Chilbongi, but I'm fairly certain it won't be Trash. Put me down for 50k on it not being Trash lol

Deal set :3

I really liked Trash from the begining, and I still like him. I hoped that he will be the husband, but damn.. Now that he started to give those gay vibes when he's with Binggeure.. it's just too funny. It will really be something if she ends up with Haitai and Trash with Binggeure lol Chilbong is a little too boring.. So I don't really care what happens to him.

I have doubts that Trash is gay, but I don't have too many complaints if that's the case and it made sense.

Except for the fact that I would lose all my won lol.

Very true. I do think the next episode will give us a bit more as to where thinhs are headed. Haitai seems very much in the running as well.

I think he'll be in the running more in these last 8-9 episodes. I think some don't think so because he's onto a different girl every week, but I think that is just to throw people off (excuse me while I project my own wants onto this drama) Seeing this episode, the way the two are towards each other, I think it would be a good pair. They can joke around with each other, they both seem to be able tell each other anything, HaiTai upfront said if they weren't so close, he'd pursue her, and she kicks his ass and he takes it while he talks his shit to her, it's perfect if you ask me.

I'm open to Haitai, but we are already at ep 11 and there's a huge disparity in his and Najeong's character development. Something earth-shattering has to happen in order for them to link up, get rid of the competition, and start pumping real chemistry. The fact that he's with a new girl every time /can/ serve as a distraction, but it could also mean that the writers made an easy way out and have his soul mate pop out without further explanation.

Chilbong also has baseball girl.

Next episode Trash has his "first love" but I have a feeling this is going to be centered around Najeong's insecurities rather than his faltering love.

I don't want to lose this bet!

I think Chilbong is the one who isn't going to give up and Trash is the one that is more reserved. While HaeTae doesn't seem to have a problem with saying whatever he has to say. If this were porridge, HaiTai would be just right and would add a major twist to the story. You ain't got money yet!

I agree, it would be an awesome twist, but I feel like it'd be so easy for the writers to whip up a scene where he gets taken after leading us on for so long. It'd be easier for the audience to accept as well.

Glad Samcheonpo left the game early.

I don't think it was going to be SCP anyway and the dad, YJ and HT are officially my favorite parts of this show. Ugh, I just don't want her to choose Trash, half because I don't like the two together as more than having a bro sis relationship, and half because I told you so is just an amazing feeling

I didn't think it was him either, but the possibility... <__>

HaeTae/HaiTai/Hetetet is becoming my favorite character. He's entertaining and caring, I'm glad he's there.

I don't want it to be Trash, but this feeling I can't shake. Even though I'll be swimming in internet money, I will feel sad about how predictable the ordeal was.

don't read until you've seen 13

So I guess HaeTae is out of the game

I like the themes with each episode, but it got a little slow here. I'm just hoping it's only because they wanted to establish TrashxNajeong first before they get into the juicy stuff.

"if right now isn't the time, then I have to wait"

he is such an optimistic guy seriously.

as cute as it is, i wish he would say

"if right now isn't the time, then I have to move on"

i would rather a thoughtful sweetheart like chilbong happy than pining over someone who it seems like won't be falling for him. that's just my impression given that she hasn't really been affected by his earlier efforts, plus "i'll wait for her to like me" is pretty much a romance death sentence in dramas

This breaks my heart but yeah, where are the writers going with him? It's so painfully one-sided rn that I don't know how they could turn it around. I kinda want him to, but I have a strong feeling that he's gonna end up with baseball girl

I agree. Baseball girl's kind of been out of the picture for the last few episodes, but in Reply 1997 (inserting spoiler here in case people haven't seen Reply 1997)

the second lead ended up with a girl kind of randomly near the end and their relationship progressed super fast. Maybe something like that will happen to Chilbong?

yeah, that's what I think

I'm preparing myself for the most obvious of the obvious so I don't get entirely disappointed. He could easily end up with her no problem. HaeTae is moving girl to girl, so it'd be easy for him to suddenly end up with a random chick

And Bingguere plays for the other team, he is automatically ruled out

I have no clue what back up Trash has because he isn't gay and there are no female candidates left. If they want him to have a "happy ending" I am almost positive he's been betrothed to /someone/ at the end. I have doubts it's Baro's character

They might pair him with his first love (from ep 12). idk it seems kind of unlikely though.

Didn't he reject her after she offered coffee? I mean if Najeong rejects him and he falls back on that girl, I wouldn't get good vibes

It definitely isn't Bing. The hospital scenes confirmed all of that lol. I don't want Trash as the husband!

even after this episode, 4 more people voted for Chilbong lol.

*prays for Trash to be bisexual and to end up with Binggeure*

I would love that but two sexualities seems to be the limit for k-dramas

ok Trash is not /that/ bad. His dorkiness was meant to sort of compliment Najeong's, I think.

They make a cute couple, but having them get together like this is so anticlimactic

the journey, which had a large 15-episode bridge connecting 6 to the end of 21, from whose height we could just barely make out the storyline's potential far off in the unreachable distance.

I'm going to be completely honest and say that I didn't even watch the past 4 episodes. I mentioned this while back...

about how obvious this was going to be. The only mistake here was something I foresaw over a month ago

I wish they weren't so upfront about centering the entire drama around who Najeong's husband is. I guess I shouldn't have expected as much

The thing is, I can't blame her for feeling this way only because every episode, the question WHO IS THE HUSBAND??????? is shoved at us, and ends up distracting the viewer from all the other well-developed side-stories and segments. 1997 laid the spotlight for some great scenes and narratives that were not romance-related, but in 1994 all the non-romance scenes have turned into some drawl of lines, not because they are pointless, but because the romance has become some separate entity that doesn't entirely complement or flow with the rest of the messages on the show and the viewers end up taking preference.

if they just told us that the husband was going to be obvious, and we should just enjoy the rest of the show, maybe the turnout would be better

if they wanted to play up the WhoIsTheHusband game in order to increase viewer rate THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE IT NOT SO FUCKIGN PREDICTABLE, YET MANAGED TO MAKE SENSE I MEAN WHY DID I WATCH IN THE FIRST PLACE HUHH WHY

It was filmed nice, nonetheless. You couldn't go too wrong with such a lovable concept.
