Why is there a minority of "Sunggyu anti" among the fandom? Maybe antis is a strong word but I´ve met two inspirits already who legit dont like Sunggyu at all. I was quite surprised because he´s my bias in Infinite along with Woohyun and I would not have expect this type of reaction coming from the fandom itself. Also, I´ve made an appreciation thread about Sunggyu before. It was an interview where he answered 50 questions wittily and I found it so interesting and funny and later on, we even discussed his complexed personality with fellow inspirits but the thread got messy somehow, shading him---and this was coming from people from the fandom too so why is that? Did he do/say something in the past that lead to this? Is it because of Woohyun solo? Your thoughts please? Like I know Sunggyu got a solo and many appearances on Variety shows like The Genius, Crime Scene...but L got many opportunities too. There has to be something about him that rubs people the wrong way because I cant see why he would be hated solely based on solo activities. L was in dramas( the one with Krystal and also a cameo in Ha Jiwon drama), Infinite H and F units...like there are many opportunities. Even Woohyun and Sungyeol were in High School Love On. Recent example, telling a fan he won't hold her hand because her skirt is too short. There was an incident where he said a woman, his cordi or something don't remember well, will look better if she lost weight. Or the yomul incident, it is a term used for women who uses man for money. So his personality is a turn off. Other than that I don't like it when he gets overly confident. About his visuals or voice. Saying he is among top 5 vovalist like wow bro no. Or how he nags. Even BSoul told him to stop, to your group I will understand but to another group's leader? 2. I don't like his appearance or voice too. Like Korea, I have my beauty standards too and sadly he fails in that aspect. And yes that is important for me. I don't like his voice too, neither singing nor speaking. Like I don't L's singing voice but I do like his speaking voice. 3. His popularity, by popularity I mean the horde of people and fangirls that go nuts every time someone says a bad thing about him and try to come up with excuses about his personality. Or tthis thread where you act like liking him is one of the core rules of the fandom. Or that overused "his voice is unique" statement. And the fact he and his fandom seems so demanding. Or the fact that his company seems to favor him. Etc. Etc. Not everyone has to like him, please don't make it like we want him to die or something. But people seem to forget when L was in demand he rejected offers so the he wouldn't be too popular than his members. But SG didn't do something like that. And he did outshine the other vocalist, Woohyun. He has more lines, more opportunities, more fans, and every time Knetz talks about vocalists he is mentioned but Woohyun isn't. Yes, he did high school love on..but the question of his solo is crucial to his fans. Until woohyun doesn't get a solo, things won’t get quieter. But I find hypocritical when you said you dont understand his popularity but you also dont want people to judge you for not liking him. Like its the same to me: You dont like him but other people do and if we were not to judge you for not liking him...you should not judge others for liking him too. The fact that you cannot distinguish clearly shows how little you have observe him over the years and just want to find reasons to hate him or validate your hate towards him. It certainly not one of the core rules of the fandom but you cannot call yourself an Inspirit if you hate one of the members. Being an Inspirit means liking all the members to a certain extent, doesn't matter if you have a bias or not. You are an individual Woohyun stan and there is nothing wrong with that. Just don't try to pretend otherwise. I'm afraid it won't stop at that. Him having a solo is not my problem, I don't listen to them anyway. My problem is the fact that Woohyun didn't have the same opportunity although he is asking for one since 2011. That's what people miss, when they are talking about that. He has two solos, WH has none. He has tones of lines in tittle tracks, WH not so much. Compare the two, he overshadowed his suppose "equal" and still he demands more. Like a solo concert and a fcking unit with WH, although WH doesn't want. That proves another point, whatever he wants, his fans want too. And they don't want anyone to complain about that. But look at WH's side WH wants a solo, his fans solo too: "Some fans reaction" - he just wants it for attention. - he doesn't want one anyway. - he should wait a little more. - his fans are pressed, annoying. - woollim know what they are doing, don't hate them. - he isn't marketable. - but he always sings ballads, where as SG sings rock!! - his self composed songs were men though. - he got ToHeart though. - Kfans: zzzzzzzzzzzz Etc. See, there is something off about the situation. If things were fair and WH also had his solo album that he wanted before SG had his second one, then we wouldn't have those arguments.
