I need advice for the Exo concert.

So I'm going to the Exo concert in LA, and right now I have the option of being in GA or sitting.

I want to be as close as possible which would usually mean General Admission. I was planning to get in line super early but they're having us stand in order. And according to the (unclear) directions they gave, I think I'll be about half-way down the line (I'm in G4 out of what looks like G0 to G7 or G8). I'm short (5'2") and I'm so afraid I won't be able to see. (I got stuck behind tall people at my last GA concert so I'm traumatized lol)

The seat I got is admittedly pretty good as far as seats go (row 7 in loge 17 - red circle under spoiler). Good view of the main stage and the extended part. But it's still farther than much of GA.

What would you do?

Also, if you've ever been to the LA Sports Arena (Kcon '13 or '14), how was your view? I've never been before.

Edit: I decided to go with the seat. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions!

I'd go with seat, because I just hate to stand in the crowd :._.:  *maaaaan, that rock concerts in tiny clubs are real hell*

There can be tall people in front of you and you won't see anything + will be blessed with all odors of others' bodies C:

Is your eyesight good?

ugh, I'm too negative :rlytearpls:

i dont understand people who go to a concert and sit thru the whole thing

have you ever been to a concert? during big concerts like this for instance, you get hot as hell/dehydred and what not.... ive seen people standing faint because of extreme fatigue.. even when you have a seat you also have the option of standing up

My eyesight is okay, I'll be wearing glasses or contacts.

But yeah seat are usually less hassle with others around you

I prefer sitting area than standing one. It's not like I would sit for the entire concert but at least I could enjoy, jump on my own, sit when I'm tired, while for standing eventho it was really close with my faves, I couldn't focus to the stage and enjoy it cause I was too thirsty and people pushed me til it was really hard to breathe and I can't move.

Yeah and I was with my friends, we're on 2nd row but they're pretty short. At the beginning they can't really watch the concert, even it was really hard to see the screen but fortunately they got pushed to the front after few performances. So unless you're on the front row next to the fence, I think it's better to choose sitting area cause you could really enjoy it. EXO were in front of me during encore performances but I was too confused cause I wanted too see all of them but obv it was impossible lol

I was there for KCON 2014. I was in the green section of either CON18 or CON17, in the first 3 rows. The stage at the time was centered, so obviously everyone could see because the groups were in the dead center, but I could see the groups all clearly. Like this was pretty much the stage setup for KCON 2014:

So you can see how everyone had a good view then (except those in the pit--I heard from someone who was in pit that the stage was so high that if you're standing close to the stage instead of further back, you literally don't see the artists that well unless they come close to where you're standing).

The only time you would be seated during Exo concert is when the boys aren't on stage. :)

As for OP's inquiry, it would have been nice if you got ticket for seating area for convenience purposes. Also, if in case there will be a massive fan projects like the message thru lightstick that exo-ls did in japan, bangkok & taiwan....you'll be able to be a part of it. :)

But since you already got the standing area ticket, i say....wear shoes that would make you taller. It'll be great seeing them up close, but will be a bit hard esp if there will be fs masters & rude fans around you. You might get shove few times. But i think your row is pretty good one moreso if they will use the same exoluxion stage design where the boys could walk/run trough the side area like yours. Have fun dear. :)

For future reference always take a loge seat over GA. Even if you are in the front of GA, you won't be at your best with people pushing behind you, and as you have said sometimes it can be physically threatening and take away from your concert experience. It's not worth it if your bias can see you from the stage after hours of waiting in line, sweating and being hassled with nowhere to freshen up and risk losing your place.

HOWEVER, the combination of a loge seat raised off the floor and inclined by row, coupled with a pair of purse-sized pocket binoculars is a winning combination as far as watching performers in extreme closeup. You can catch things they say to one another in the wings and facial expressions and individual hairs on their head. The rows mean no one is pushing you and you can sit during the ballads and rest. I always take a pair of small binoculars to an arena or larger show and never have regretted it.

If your going to be standing , stand your ground, don't be afraid to push people cause you will get push. Wear high platform shoes and a witty banner to get notice, don't bother recording or taking picture or video , it will turn out ugly unless your a beast then by all mean please do take some pictures and share them lol

Idk, i'm pretty tall, so if i stand in the mosh pitt, it's like A+ VIP spot for me, can even see the pores of the idols skin (no lie).

But the girl behind me are so short, she can't see nothing lol

Is this a picture you took? That's a really good view.

And your last paragraph is also something I thought about. Unless I get on one of the sides between the main and extended, I probably won't be able to see the mains stage that clearly.

Thanks for sharing your experience

This was such good advice, esp. the bold part. I think you just convinced me to take the seat and buy some binoculars.  I've never been to a concert anywhere near this big so I think the pushing would get to me. Thank you!

I have both a seat and a GA ticket. I think I'm going to go with the seat, like you said for convenience reasons. And thanks! :)

Girl, go with seating. Always go with seating. K-Pop fans are lunatics and yes by all means you COULD go into GA with the intention of staying away from the batshit insanity of the pit/near-pit but when you're being pushed by crowds of people (especially since you're short) you really have no choice where you're headed at that point. It just isn't advisable. Take the risk of a less up-close-and-personal view for the comfort of not being jostled around the entire show.
