Global superstar Adele’s (UK) recent hit song “Hello†reached a staggering one billion views on the popular video platform YouTube a mere 88 days after it was uploaded.

This represents the Fastest time for a video to reach one billion views on YouTube since PSY’s South Korean dance track “Gangnam Style†became the First video to receive one billion views 159 days after the four-minute clip was first uploaded (almost twice as long as Adele’s video took to hit the mark).

Grammy award-winning musician Adele’s comeback single (following her four-year break) received a whopping 27.7 million views in the first day after it was uploaded.

On 12 January 2016, Billboard reported that 14 tracks had entered the “billion views club†on YouTube, led by "Gangnam Style" with 2.5 billion views.

"Hello", Maroon 5's "Sugar" and "Love the Way You Lie" by Eminem feat. Rihanna have all reached the landmark total in the week since then. As of 20 January 2016, "Hello" had attracted 1,008,367,184 views.

Adele's landmark YouTube achievement comes shortly after she achieved her first Guinness World Records title with Most views for an act on VEVO in 24 hours. In one day "Hello" was watched 36 million times on this other prevalent video hosting service.

Meh. Psy still more impressive imo. He did it when YouTube wasn't even as big as it is now and there was no bloody VEVO. The counter didn't even go up to 1 billion back then. Late.

Meh. A record is still a record. Psy's video was huge because of its virality. For Hello it's just a normal musical release and Adele achieves this feat based on her power and massive appeal alone.

ADELE got 1 billion views off the hype of her genuinely good music. PSY got a billion views for being a fat fool people laughed at. Adele is more impressive  :)
