This should've been TVXQ's lead single for Rise As God

yeah, it rules

I enjoyed the double solo releases tho. Champagne is a jam

every track on RAG is great really, I have a hard time choosing faves

The 'problem' with the doubles solos is that both songs were kinda bland. I wanted RAG to slay, both Champagne and Rise as One doesn't really capture the casual fans and non-fans unfortunately.

If it wasn't released before Yunho went to army, maybe this would have been. But I liked both their solo songs so I can't complain.

Btw If I could choose the lead single it would be Dominus.

well that's subjective... I wasn't hugely into Rise As One but I loved Champagne, it's so catchy and fun. and even though I was meh on Rise As One, it still has its moments for me

I didn't expect RAG to slay because the whole album was made for fans rather than the public anyway, since it was released at short notice with almost no promo quite literally just before their enlistment. so I don't think they were aiming for hits with casual or non-fans which is why they decided to make the lead singles individual solo tracks in the first place

similarly, their Japanese solo mini albums were released through their fanclub only as they were intended just for fans. I don't think either of them are currently interested in trying to court the general public with a solo, at least not yet.

plus I think both of them are aware that they're not going to be a "trend" group smashing the digital charts (the only ones people really care about nowadays lol) anytime soon, so I prefer that they aim for fun and creative stuff that appeals to existing fans rather than losing their style by trying to appeal to the public, if that makes sense
