Do university GPA matter as much if you got one year of internship/work experience in the field before you graduate?

yes, gpa + experience is important, both of that is important, even your teeth and fashion is important.

Pretty much. Depends on the job for sure. Like I am interning this summer and you have to had had a 3.5 or better in order to even apply.

GPA always matter but unless you have really good connections then gpa+experience won't matter. GPA+connections is the only thing that matters while your in college.

I am talking about where I already had one year of work experience/internships before I graduate.

GPA eventually will be one line in a long, expansive resume where you list your relevant work experience and skills. It's important to keep your marks up to earn early opportunities for sure, but it's not the be-all-and-end-all of success.
