Nope, the other way around (I think). Kanata is probably "Takumi", the guy that girl with the hat (I forgot her name lol) is looking for...aka her brother. I wonder how he ended up with the Shibasaki family...can't wait for episode 7 to find out.

I mean the female lead in his other drama & movie^^ I find them over acting & want kento attention for real...just my opinion but what I like from mirei is she didn't try to look cute in front of kento...It's strange but I'm not jealous when kento pairing up with her but when kento pairing up with the other female cast....my I don't understand myself Mirei sure lucky....

I'm the opposite, I love all the interactions he has with his female co-stars 

Mirei is a bit older than him so maybe that's why...? lol

This thread is dead af as always

Wolf girl and black prince was...disappointing. I was expecting a fun comedy, not a "serious" movie lol 

Both main characters were unbearable, I usually don't mind "tsundere" types but here Kento's character was just straight up abusive I wanted to punch him for the whole time...At least he looked good even with that tragic blonde/orange hair color. And what a waste of Fumi Nikaido's talent, she's such a great actress I can't believe she accepted to play this dumb boring role smh. Also, I have to admit they don't have much chemistry, not as a couple at least (imo).

Ok enough with the rant

Hey guys! Been a short-to-what-seem-like-a-long-time-lurking of this thread ever since I found out about Kento a couple months back! I've decided to come out of lurker mode seeing your guys' dislike towards Wolf Girl & Black Prince, I'll have to disagree. I actually loved the movie! I've never read the manga or seen the anime or seen any of Nikaido Fumi's works but I do know she's highly praised for her acting skills, and she did not disappoint me in WGBP. That being said, the movie did have some lingering moments where they could've focused on the actors' faces instead of having a 2min far off screen of them talking. Other than that, comparing it to Heroine Disqualified (because that's the only other movie I've seen with Kento), I liked this one better. Maybe it's because I somewhat "understood" the characters more in WGBP than HD? 

 

By the way, anyone know the song around 1hr 41min into the movie when he was running to the Venus Terrace?

It's interesting to hear different opinions...And I've seen a lot of people asking about that song lol it's "Just a spark" by Sebastian Forslund

First visit to J-Entertainment and straight to Kento thread

I want to ask about his movie, heroine something, I forget the title. Is it worth to watch? happy ending?

I saw him in japanese talk show, I dont know if he's nervous or he's a shy person but he's so cute

If by happy ending you mean that Kento gets the girl in the end then yes lol. I'm not the biggest fan of heroine shikkaku tbh, I find Kiritani Mirei's acting a bit too exaggerated and Kento's character kinda boring in this movie but it was a box office hit in Japan and overall I've heard positive comments so you could give it a shot...? For me it was worth it mostly because of Kento's beautiful face and his chemistry with Mirei lol

 

And yes he's a dork

Kento is really cute. I wanna watch his movie Your Lie in April with suzu so badly. I kinda ship them from the look but they dont really have chemistry from the outside videos -.-

Really? It's funny because just based on their looks I actually thought they didn't match, but after seeing their interactions I changed my mind lol. I think they have good chemistry, maybe not the type that makes you want to ship them romantically, more like siblings to me but they're still cute

I don't watch his stuff since I don't watch any movies and dramas.

 

I just like his face.

I like his acting...He can definitely improve a lot but I think he has done a good job so far with the roles he played...Especially in Orange, Mare and some of his earlier roles as well.

I love Kentzu, tbh. They are one visual pairing. They both look great on their own, so when you put them together the visual just explodes. I think those moments are very adorable, raw, and subtle. But out of the many videos of them together, they barely interact on screen. I think Kento likes to hang out with the boys more. Suzu even said she was wondering if Kento and Taichi were dating since they stuck to each other so much. During Your Lie photoshooting, Kento and Taichi basically interacted with each other while the girls just stood there. I thought it was quite awkward.

Im new to the japanese entertainment, but from my observation, Kento is really popular right? He has so so many movies since 2016. I think an adaptation of Kimi no nawa is likely for him and he suits the main lead well.

Kento and Taishi are under the same agency and they both starred in the drama Water Polo Yankees in 2014 so they were already quite close (I love their bromance btw), while this was the first time he worked with Suzu...maybe if they work together again in the future they will be more comfortable, who knows lol. So far he had the best chemistry with Tao Tsuchiya and Mirei Kiritani imo...Now I'm curious to see him with Alice Hirose, they are the same age as well...

 

 

About Kimi no nawa...considering the huge popularity, the fans would probably eat Kento alive lol there was already so much outrage for Jojo's bizarre adventure   The storyline is cool though, so if they ever do a live-action and Kento gets chosen I'm definitely fine with it. Kamiki Ryunosuke was the voice actor in the movie, I could see him doing the LA too...he's a really good actor.

What you said makes sense haha. I may have been quite sensitive when it comes to my "otp" (not sure if they are for now). Oh really? Isn't Kento really popular though, so he might be forgiving. I really like the plot of Kimi no nawa eventhough I don't think it will be as good in liveaction because the beauty of the movie is on its graphic. Who do you think would fit Matsuha if Kento gets to lead? 

Kento is really popular atm but he also has a lot of haters/antis...but that's the prize of popularity I guess.

 

About the actress...I have no idea, plus I didn't even watch the movie lol. I've read the plot though and it seems interesting...

Yamazaki Kento will play the lead role in the movie “Forest of Sheep and Steel†(Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori) which will be released in 2018. The story is based on Miyashita Natsu’s novel which is the winner of the Booksellers Award in 2016.

“Forest of Sheep and Steel†is a coming-of-age story about high school student Tomura Naoki who becomes intrigued by the piano after his encounter with piano tuner Itadori Soichiro. After graduating from high school, Tomura, who didn’t have any ambition in life prior to this meeting, trains to be a piano tuner.

The movie will be directed by Hashimoto Koijiro, who worked with Kento before in “Orangeâ€, and Itadori Soichiro will be played by veteran actor Miura Tomokazu.

Kento’s comment: “Reading the novel, the sound, scenery, smell, and the relationship between people, everything was depicted in a delicate, careful and very gentle way. What is required – talent or hardwork? Am I doing my job for the sake of someone? As a piano tuner and as a person, Tomura worries about these, and matures slowly while encountering failures. He’s someone I empathize with. I think this is something anyone in any profession is able to empathize with. I’m really excited about how the uniqueness of piano tuning, the forest, and the piano will be depicted on film.â€

Since late last year, Kento has been learning and practicing piano tuning in Hokkaido in preparation for the role. Filming will start this month in Hokkaido, mainly in Asahikawa, and will last till mid-March. From June onwards, they’ll be filming the summer scenes. “Forest of Sheep and Steel†will be distributed by Toho and will be released nationwide (Japan) in 2018.

 

Finally something that is not a romance! And it's not a manga/anime live action either! I'm so happy that he's branching out...I hope he gets time to rest though, he's incredibly busy this year...

The Reason why the Trailer has so much dislikes is because Japanese Otakus are very protective over their Anime & Manga and more then not are against the idea of Live Action Movies, also the Director has a bad track record with Live Actions, so they have low expectations.

 

They're also displeased with the Casting choices, a lot of them are hating on Kento because he has become the 'go to' person for Live Action Remakes these days, his popularity has skyrocketed in Japan and is definitely one of the most popular 'trending actors', even in 2017 alone he has so many titled lined up for release and a lot of people are becoming a little bit sick of him, more fame means more haters I guess. 

 

Also even as his fan I admit that his acting can sometimes be a bit lacking and Josuke is such an interesting and unique role, so people have doubts whether or not he can pull it off.

 

Anyway, I hope that he proves these Otakus wrong, I have faith in him.

Now I'm curious, which roles do you think he could have played better? I agree with you btw, I like his acting overall but there's definitely room for improvement...

There is definitely improvement to be made, he plays the moody/tsun lead perfectly, but I much prefer him when he plays laid-back and easy going characters! Then I feel like I'm just watching Kento and not a character lol because he's like that IRL~

I love tsundere Kento but I would really like to see him playing the funny/airhead role for once, since he seems a bit like that in real life too lol. I honestly think he would suit comedy...The disastrous life of Saiki K. is a good start for now, I can't wait to watch it!

New drama...

 

Yamazaki Kento to appear in TBS drama “Rikuouâ€

It was announced last year that TBS would be making a drama based on Ikeido Jun’s novel “Rikuouâ€. The drama will be led by Yakusho Koji who will play Miyazawa Koichi, the fourth generation president of “Kohazeyaâ€, a company making tabi socks. With declining sales figures, Miyazawa decides to stake the company’s future in a new line of running tabi called “Rikuouâ€.

TBS announced that the role of Miyazawa’s oldest son will be played by Yamazaki Kento. Turning 23 next month, Kento will play 23-year-old Miyazawa Daichi. After graduating from university, Daichi fails to find employment and starts helping out at “Kohazeyaâ€. He’s entrusted with the production of “Silkclayâ€, used in the sole portion of “Rikuouâ€. â€œRikuou†will be aired on Sundays 9pm, starting October 2017.
