Hopefully they won't let the movie flop completely 

A lot of the Commenters are upset because the Director doesn't have a good track rate when it comes to Live action Movies, and many don't approve of the Casting choices, they said that YamaKen was only hired because he's a hot Actor atm, not based on his credentials. T.T Hopefully they aren't too harsh on him, and it's unfair to judge it so harshly based on a 30 second clip lol.

The Reason why the Trailer has so much dislikes is because Japanese Otakus are very protective over their Anime & Manga and more then not are against the idea of Live Action Movies, also the Director has a bad track record with Live Actions, so they have low expectations.

 

They're also displeased with the Casting choices, a lot of them are hating on Kento because he has become the 'go to' person for Live Action Remakes these days, his popularity has skyrocketed in Japan and is definitely one of the most popular 'trending actors', even in 2017 alone he has so many titled lined up for release and a lot of people are becoming a little bit sick of him, more fame means more haters I guess. 

 

Also even as his fan I admit that his acting can sometimes be a bit lacking and Josuke is such an interesting and unique role, so people have doubts whether or not he can pull it off.

 

Anyway, I hope that he proves these Otakus wrong, I have faith in him.

Now I'm curious, which roles do you think he could have played better? I agree with you btw, I like his acting overall but there's definitely room for improvement...

I'm not sure it's about specific role, it's more about how much responsibility it carries to play Josuke and execute it correctly since a lot of people (especially Otakus) will have really high expectations. I think you could have swapped Kento out with another and they would still make a fuss, a lot of them are just completely against the idea of Live action.

 

Hopefully the Cast can silence their criticism

 

There is definitely improvement to be made, he plays the moody/tsun lead perfectly, but I much prefer him when he plays laid-back and easy going characters! Then I feel like I'm just watching Kento and not a character lol because he's like that IRL~

I love tsundere Kento but I would really like to see him playing the funny/airhead role for once, since he seems a bit like that in real life too lol. I honestly think he would suit comedy...The disastrous life of Saiki K. is a good start for now, I can't wait to watch it!
