it's grammatically correct but it doesn't make much sense, it's not a natural phrase

"My life is beautiful" - makes more sense

"She's a beauty" - makes sense too

"My life is a beauty" - makes grammatical sense but kinda weird sounding because a native speaker wouldn't really say that

No, it isn't grammatically incorrect. Most people would say "My life is beautiful", but "My life is a beauty" isn't incorrect necessarily ..it's just kind of awkward to say.

It's similar to saying "She is a beauty" vs "She is beautiful" everyone will understand what you mean, but it's just more natural to say "She is beautiful" using the adjective (beautiful) rather than the noun(beauty) form.

it's grammatically correct, but it's a weird thing that no one would ever say.

life is a noun. "beauty" as a noun means something that is beautiful. so it works, just sounds strange

"my life is beautiful" is more natural

"My life is a beauty" is grammatically correct.

And if a biased person says Taeyeon can do what she wants, that is also technically correct, because it's her song, and it's been known throughout the music industry that a composer or an artist can all have their poetic licenses that may defy grammar.

It's been happening since The Beatles and most mainstream american songs today. Not sure why some people are so worked up about it, especially since some of the artists are English-speakers by nature and are more than capable to use correct grammar but they don't and they don't receive shit for it. And here comes Taeyeon, the korean artist who speaks a few english words or so and gets nagged for something as petty as this. (I'm speaking of this as a whole, because ever since the song came out, a lot of people were complaining and "annoyed af" about the grammar)

Sometimes Taeyeon haters just... can't get no satisfaction.
