Neil Patrick Harris is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

The 42-year-old former How I Met Your Mother star will portray the evil uncle, Count Olaf, in the children’s book-turned-television series.

 

A Series of Unfortunate Events tells the tale of orphaned children Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire who find themselves living with their villainous uncle named Count Olaf who has his eyes on their family fortune.

The 13-episode series was picked up in November 2014 but doesn’t have a release date.

I actually think he plays disturbed roles well. I liked him in American Horror Story as the magician/ ex-war vet, but I wish he hadn't just been added in the last few episodes with no real purpose. The only thing is that Olaf has a distinct look that would be hard to imagine NPH bringing without a bomb ass makeup crew.

I was a big fan of the books so I'm excited to see the series as they'll be able to cover more of the storylines than the movie could
