Why what happened?

How so?

Besides, wouldn't be the first time an idol is forced to embody a concept she doesn't identify with in the slightest. It's basically their job, even.

On love, romantic dates and needing a man

When quizzed about the title of their latest hit, “I Don’t Need a Manâ€, and if that statement is a reflection of reality, Min said in perfect English: “I don’t consider myself a feminist, and I definitely need a man. In fact we all do, because in the future we all want to get married and have kids, so how can you do that without a man?â€

Damn Min, I hope she changed her mind since.

And no, it doesn't contradict what you said indeed, but then the entire K-pop industry is about pretending, anyway. I never expect any idols to be remotely in sync with the concepts they're forced to embody. That'd be delusional.

So I just enjoy the song and its message as it is, it's a product Min didn't even create anyway, so her opinion is irrelevant to me.

lmao saying everything about k-pop is authentic and has a deep, true meaning behind it would be delusional af and even a joke, that wasn't what i was saying or expecting. in most cases, you don't know the idol's true feelings about the song. but here, since i know it, i'm kinda having a hard time taking her seriously when she's performing that song is all i'm saying.

for example, minho himself said that when he first heard ring ding dong he said "wtf is that song". this isn't the same case since min said some really annoying and problematic things, but that still makes you see the performances a bit differently.
