People say it's silly to stan companies but...

at times I find it a little odd how worked up we get arguing over groups when many of them have no say in what they do. groups usually get the blame for bad songs, bad choreo, bad MVs, and stuff like that when most of the time it's the company's doing.

criticisms like "_____ has no talent" are valid because this is actually criticizing the idol and something the idol has (limited) control over. but things like "_____ should disband, their music is not good" is not very fair since they don't choose their music.

it's even weirder to put groups on a pedestal in the same way, as if they're superior because their company is good at picking music.

Your logic does not work for YG since as far as I know their artists make/ compose/ write their own music/ at least most of them. (Cmiiw)

YG still decides if they can put it out or not that's why he claims it took so long for some of the groups to come back.

is funny how people always call out big3 stans because we stan groups from the same company when they follow groups from the same company as well

Or people doesn't think is weird when they support 4Minute and CLC because they are 4M's little sisters?

Or people that stan T-ara stan DIA as well? Or INFINITE and Lovelyz?

To an extent. Even YG artists have restrictions.

Actually there in an even worse position tbh because even if they make music they like it still has to get the stamp of approval from YG and it has to fit his specific taste or plans

That's where varieties, singing varieties, fan service, radio dj'ing, mc'ing, acting, live performances, etc. come in

That's a more individual aspect that fans can connect to that isn't entirely company dependant since you can screw it up on your own accord. Anyways, I see your point OP, but still think it's fine to stan groups

Teddy is never far away lol

Very few songs out of YG are solo compositions and productions by the artist. There's almost always one of the YG crew co-writing and doing the arranging. Nothing wrong with that, but a lot of artistic input isn't total artistic control. The main exception to this is AKMU where Chanhyuk writes and producers all their material.

I really thought stanning companies are silly until I realized many people in my country hardcore stan television stations esp with the tv stations having exclusive contracts of their fave actors/actresses. So company loyalty is tied to their idols because companies control everything about their faves.

Uhh isn't that basically 90% of all pop groups in general lol? Anyway just because they don't write/compose their songs doesn't always mean they have Zero input to their artistry. I'm sure they still get to somewhat negotiate with the company on what style of songs/concepts they want next especially the older groups :)

Ok, you say the companies choose the music, what about people who stan groups with bad music or even no music just because of the company? The YGNGG thread is one of the largest threads on this forum and they have no songs, no concepts, nothing but the YG name.

well if they've liked most of the stuff that has come out of the company, it's only natural to be excited about a new group from them.
