I woke up with a stuffed nose.....REMEDIES FOR THE COLD PLEASE!

Recommended Posts

So my whole family has been getting sick from co-workers and themselves and I was the only one that was left. I had a minor runny nose here and there but nothing to be alarmed of.

But today..............I woke up with a stuffed nose and couldn't breathe, RIP My Health

I need you guys to tell me what are good remedies to either PREVENT or MINIMIZE cold symptoms.

And plz, don't tell me about the Emergen C or those other Vitamin C tablets/water mixers. Those DON'T work. It's all marketing people!

I was going to say Emergen-C  :derp:

Seriously whenever I feel a cold coming on, I drink an Emergen-C in the morning and suck a few Coldeze (cold lozenges, they're full of Zinc) and it really, truly staves off a cold.

Otherwise, drink a glass of water every half hour. Yes, you will have to pee pretty much constantly. It flushes out the system - the cold will be gone in 2-3 days.

We have a saying:

If you treat the cold, you'll get better in 7 days. If you don't treat the cold, you'll get better in 7 days.  :imstupid:

Sea water spray several times a day to wash out the nose.

Applying a heating balm/ointment on nose, neck, chest, feet.

Hot drink: a handful of cranberry (use a blender) + some ginger + some honey + hot water. Cranberry is very good for detox (I don't believe in actual detox, but it helps kidneys to work better or something). Works way better than tea for me.

idk if this works for everyone, but drinking hot tea always helps me. i like green tea with a bit of lemon and honey

Otrivin_Menthol_1_mg_sailytysaineeton_pa

I usually take Claritin in the morning as a decongestant. It works pretty well! But for a quicker remedy, I'd say put some honey in your tea. That usually helps me also.

Lemsip, idk if its available in your country.

Vicks, apply it around your nose and chest area before going to bed.

Get rid all that junk in your nose instead of sniffing it back up.

I had a horrible cold/blocked nose for 3 weeks last month. Lost my sense of smell for while T.T

Saline drops or spray for your nose several times a day, that clears most of the problems (stuffy nose, sore throat if you have it).

eat spices (wasabi or habenero peppers). the will make your nose run.

UMMMM NO!

Thanks to All!!!

Lots of honey+lemon+tea suggestions.
