Nowadays Chinese/Taiwanese female rookies/trainees seem to have a lot more of love and hype around them.

 

Tzuyu is Taiwanese and is already a trending idol and is the visual of the group despite being non-Korean (she and Nichkun seem to be the only main visuals who are non korean in Kpop). She also already has her own individual CFs too.

WJSN member Cheng Xiao is Chinese and seems to be the most popular member among the group so far. Her visuals have been complimented a lot by Koreans and International fans/netizens. 

 

And Pledis Trainee, also a contestant on Produce 101 named Zhou JieQiong aka Pinky is gaining popularity from the show. She even is currently #2 on the polls among the contestants. She also is complemented on her prettiness.

 

 

I know Chinese idols have been really loved in Korea from Victoria to Fei. But nowadays it seems they are having more of an impact and are gaining a lot more love in Korea.

Yes because Koreans try to support Chinese and foreign kids who come to Korea to participate in their culture

 

It's the same reason why middling guys who have no ostensible talent and are average-to-homely looking are popular on Abnormal Summit and other shows. If agencies can find halfway decent Chinese kids Korean will bend over backwards to support them, as long as they are amenable to Korean culture.

 

Nichkhun for example, it wasn't just his looks but he worked very hard, and was extremely earnest, openminded about foreign customs and proud of his heritage... all things that Koreans consider "Korean" traits and they respected him for it.
