COSMIC GIRL 319 Posted January 11, 2016 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Most people have played at least one Pokemon game in their life and have maybe even been partially obsessed with the popular Japanese video game franchise at some point. What time of your life was your Pokemon era if you ever had one? Mine was around, I think, 2nd or 3rd grade when I got a Wal Mart gift card for my birthday and decided to spend the money on the Gameboy version of Pokemon Sapphire. I sucked really badly at it but I still liked it enough to buy Pearl for my DS when I got one of those, but that was pretty much the last time I've ever had an experience with Pokemon. And I really liked the Gold/Silver/Crystal era. I got the Gold version. The latest ones I've played are Soul Silver and Black/Black 2 since those are the ones my brother got. Starlight 1,108 Posted January 11, 2016 Share Posted January 11, 2016 In elementary school, maybe 2nd/3rd-4th grade or so, I used to watch the show, and I had a lot of Pokemon cards. My brother and I would battle against each other sometimes. We also had a Pokemon game on Gameboy or Gameboy color? Maybe both. I also remember buying a book from the book fair at school that had descriptions and pictures of all of the Pokemon in it. Everyone was into Pokemon at that time. So much that our school banned gameboys and the cards. I was really into Gold/Silver as well. I still like Pokemon but not enough to buy the latest DS just to play the newer ones. I don't watch the anime anymore either. I still have my cards sitting in the attic somewhere. I was able to pay Red/Blue (can't remember which) and got crazy into the franchise but my parents weren't willing to buy a second gameboy and thus I was unable to beat the game. After a year or two of that, I basically fell out of the whole game (except an occasionally episode of the anime). I played Crystal a few months after i graduated HS, nearly beat it, but I messed up a cheat and was unable to trade with other version out at the time. I played R/S/E/FR/LG in late 2010 but didn't beat any of them for reasons I can't remember. I bought X/Y & OR/AS late last year and will be playing them this year sometime. Sadly people around me stopped playing Pokémon during college and university which made lose interest, that and I missed the 250 Pokémon as most were absent in R/S until fire red and leaf green. I don't remember for how long though.I also had Stadium, Stadium 2, and Snap on the N64. So I'm thinking early 2000s. I didn't really get into Pokemon until I got XD: Gale of Darkness for the Gamecube in 2006. Then I started watching the anime again during the Advance or Advance: Battle season, whichever one was airing in 2006. Never had any of the handheld games cuz I didn't own a GameBoy/Advance, DS, etc. But I played the games that are/were available on playr.org like 4-5 years ago. I watched the anime until 2011 I think. Got tired of seeing the same shit over and over. I've played Black and Black 2 on emulator, and am currently playing Omicron, which is a fanmade game.
