He had only been here for four day so he was learning how he could utilize help from us, blah blah blah, etc. My section leader was the one who was showing him these things but then he got called out for a meeting so he told me to take over showing the guy our tools.Let's call him my BFF since that's what Alex calls him to tease me, and there's an irony to thisBECAUSE: I told Alex about our simple and quick greet and how whenever I see this guy and we start talking he smiles at me like I brighten up his day and it's weird because I've been looking like hot garbage since I've joined the military. WTF could someone possibly be smiling at so happily for? So Alex calls him my BFF even though I do my best to avoid eye contact with him and stray from conversations since I'm terrible with males, females, people in general. Seriously, I was walking back to my room the other night and thought about his smile, became really frustrated because I didn't understand the meaning of it and ran down the rows internally screaming NOOOOOO like some distressed school girl. 2 o'clock in the morning at workMe: Why are you still working?BFF: (SMILES) I want to look up some thingsMe: (why is he smiling like that) well okBFF: What about you? Do you normally work this late?Me: No, I'm on gaurd duty...We talk a little more, he asks about one of his friends who works in my office and I tell him he's been really busy because we anticipated two additions to our shop.BFF: (SMILES) Do you still need another person? (HINTS)Me: Nah man. We're good. And that was like our second time ever talking a few days after our first meet. So I try avoiding him but then last night 3 o'clock in the morning outdoorsI'm walking back to my room and out of everyone in the empty yard of dorms, who do I see? My BFF. And he's on his way to shower. And I can't, like, ignore him. So I say:Me: Hey.BFF: (SMILES) Hi!
