It's actually funny, but if I were to translate the lawsuit in real life terms, I'd be like Yunho and Changmin all the way. I work in one of the world's biggest companies and while there are several advantages because of it, there's also drawbacks. I know people at work who hate their work and speak bad of the company all the time, whereas I'm usually on the happy side. A few years back, there was a voluntary "exit plan", you know, the kind of thing where the company tells you "I want at least half of you to pack their things and go, but I don't want to be the baddie, so here, take this good sum and do it on your own". I was one of the few who stayed, haha. I know I could get better pay, I know they're taking advantage of me, but I just... don't like changes. I know how things are here, so long as they keep me, I'm gonna stay.

So this is what makes me understand Yunho and Changmin. Not everyone likes changes, even if sometimes the workload or pay is unfair. You can just deal with it and don't understand why others can't do the same.

On the other hand, totally with JaeChunSu too, because they had other dreams and hopes, and I'm so glad they were courageous enough to go after them.

I remember how much talk there was around the time of the exit plan at work. Hours and hours of talking, loads of different opinions... Everyone was talking according to their own lives, their own experiences, their own circumstances. It was so hard to pick sides. The dilemma was strong, and even now, no one can tell who made the right choice and who didn't. For some, it was wrong to go. For some, it was wrong to stay. Perhaps. But no one knows, and the "if" games help no one. It is easy to judge from an outsider's POV, but honestly, in the end, it's kind of pointless? Even if you read everything there is, opinions from one side, opinions from the other side, what family and friends have to say etc... will you know their hearts? Their hopes and dreams? Their physical condition? For Yoochun it must have been hell, I remember reading that one manager thought he'd die in the Tokyo Dome tour. How can I blame these guys for wanting to leave, considering how much talent they got the freedom to show after it. And how can I blame the ones who stayed, when I myself would probably do the same?

I agree about Lee Jung. It was ofc a biased opinion, but an opinion that argumented well against Precious. And that's when you realise... things aren't exactly like some want to portray. And you think beyond what you read.

Damn this ended up being so long

lol i just saw this.

I have been on both sides of the coin tbh.

My first job was at a law firm. Just doing secretarial stuff. According to the contract, we could do upto 60 hours per week. 44 hours were regular pay but anything over that was considered overtime and we were supposed to get time and half. What happened was three people in the secretarial staff quit at the same time so we came short staff. My job responsibilities were increased, which tbh I didn't mind. But also I was putting in more overtime than ever. The head secretary always told me that they couldn't pay overtime...that they would just add it to my hours next week...I could take an extra day off. At first it was okay because I was only doing 3-4 hours in overtime. But later I was basically working 60 hours while getting paid for only 44. After about a month of this, I fucking said goodbye to the job. I lost at least 40 hours of overtime pay and I could have taken them to court but really I am not rich enough to go against a law firm. I know another girl who worked with me but stayed. She didn't wanna not have a job. As she said, some money is better than no money.

And then I worked at Wonderland - it's an amusement park here. This was during my university years. I was an auditor for F&B department and I loved the job. It was long hours and I would basically spend anywhere between 12-16 hours working and the pay wasn't the highest. It was hard and a lot of people didn't like that. They quit and got better jobs. I was referred at another company through a friend too where I would have made more money but I didn't leave. I liked my position and the team I worked with. And thw job just on a whole fit well with my personality. I didn't care for higher compensation and just stay put.

It's really just what one wants. When I look at the lawsuit, I think of them like that too. JYJ wanted something different than TVXQ and hence, it ended with them splitting up as a consequence of that. You can't say anyone is wrong for choosing what suited their needs better. If you do, you are just being a hypocrite.

Maybe he celebrates the January one more...

How the eff did I not know this about Jaejoong?! Like he isn't my bias or anything (not even close) but I would have thought I knew something basic like this!

There are some days I just suck so badly. Today is one of them (unrelated but relates) sigh.

lmao I don't know. It's pretty common knowledge.

don't beat yourself over it lol. I didn't know until a year ago that JaeJoong actually had a half brother -.-

I just saw that Junsu would be in a musical in September.

So when he'll go in army? When Jaejoong will comeback?

Because if it's it, he'll not out before october 2018? O.o

I don't wait so long before JYJ comeback, JYJ interractions... And more we wait, less chance to see a reunion of DB5K (yes.. I'm in my delulu phase right now XD)

Please Junsu... Just go. More you wait, more public will bash you ><

You don't deserve it :s

(plus I want a db5k reunion in army xD)

I think I mentioned it before. I don't see him going to army before December...right when JaeJoong comes back.

Because his registered birthday is January 1...he should be okay.

came here to say i was stalking ya'll (i backtracked) and i must say it was an interesting read about how different people, coming from different places and mindsets, experience the same situation and form an opinion,

i also hate all of you (you know who you are) for reminding me how i was when i enter this fandom and its crack ways, as well as the first cassies (i use the term by soloist's definition per se) i met online.

i literally can see MasterOfDisguise still eyesiding me for what the new cassie breed has evolved to (besides my mere jaeharem excistence of course).

@silver the great zsadist: i think you made this ?

Nah...not mine. But it's pretty.

I loved you since I first met you. Forget master...I hate her since the day she tried to take my jaejoong away from me.

akp's thread, in particular, had all kind of regulars. i loved that diversity and freedom tbh. the rest was nice but not the same for me.

anyways, back to beat a dead horse, i still trust my first impression on tvxq/jyj. from the time i read about them and their story without relying on comments. i just don't see what terrible and out of common human behaviour each side did.

as a post split fan, i had the previllege to discover them in their 'imperfect' phase and i'm ok with that.

for the record and about the trial, i've only read the truetvxq block, after that i wasn't particularly interested to go through the same process with a different gospel, so i ignored jyj3files. i stayed to my 'only raw tranlations path'.

omg when we lost the akp thread, my heart broke. Given that we all actually brought that thread from the dead...I have never put as much effort in updating and maintaining a thread as I did with that one. And I miss so many users from there!!

I just don't see what terrible and out of common human behaviour each side did.

This so much.

I honestly don't want SM anywhere near JYJ tbh.

And if I remember well, SM have righteous on TVXQ and Tohoshinki name but not on æ±æ–¹ç¥žèµ· & ë™ë°©ì‹ ê¸° because of the caracter for "east", so TVXQ + JYJ could ask right on the name? And since they are a portion of the succeed of the name, they could be win on court. (I mean, even Shinhwa won their name)

SM just owns the right to the abbreviations and the all five's stage names because they are unique and unlikely to be used by anyone...not even the full forms are owned by them. Back in 2009, the court actually ruled that the name Dong Bang Shin KI's entity belongs to the five men, not SM. That's why their application for trademarking it was rejected the second time. I remember reading this on a news site some time ago...like in 2012. I have no idea where.

I just find it funny how SM owns the right to Micky Yoochun when it's something that Yoochun was known as even before he signed with SM...Micky was his nickname/english name after all. But ok.

More than the name, it's the music they will lose that hurts. If TVXQ walks, they will have no rights to the music they released while under SM...even the songs that were composed/written by them. They will have to pay out huge amounts of cash for all that. For Shinhwa, it was still easier because they parted with SM after their contract was over and their popularity was on a decline. For TVXQ, they are still the highest earning group under SM. I doubt SM will let them go without a hard fight...maybe even worse than the one against JYJ.

Yunho and Changmin could menace them to reveal all their dirty things (bribe, abuse, unfair contract, JYJ cockblock) :imstupid:

But, that's true ><

At least, Avex seems not be a problem, so their Japanese realease are safe (and I'm still prefer tohoshinki to DBSK...)

But yes... They have a bunch of good songs in Korea ><

If only SM could be less scum.

But, don't Yunho and Changmin have share in SM? o.O

They couldn't sale it for the rights on their songs?

And if I remember, the court said that in fact DB5K have some rights on their songs because they sing it and was a part of succeed of them. So if they pursue SM to have rights, they could use it.

And, they have connections after 10 years in industry :hurr:

lmao I am sure SM has things on Yunho and Changmin too.

I am not sure about how their Japanese releases work tbh. I don't think they have rights to them either since JaeChun can't sing their Colors songs which is part of their Japanese discography. People are welcome to correct me on this.

Honestly, the shares they have is a joke. I am sorry but have a look at the numbers for other shareholders here

The artists aren't even mentioned because the shares they hold are so insignificant. Hell, even I own more shares in some companies than they do. I don't like to comment on this because I have only a little understanding of the market but even then 680 shares aren't a lot.

Boys don't need to migrate from their companies for colabs to happen. I really don't see JYJ going back to SM or TVXQ leaving SM, but it's not really needed for a collaboration of sorts for old time sake.

About names: They own TVXQ and DBSK and Tohoshinki - yes. It's a known fact that they own Xiah too - the name was created under SM. But about others? I really doubt. How they could have right for a word "Hero" or "Uknow" or "Max" and "Micky" those are words used in every day language and were created way before they became the nicknames of our boys?

The way I see it - they MIGHT own some kind of right for combination of Hero Jaejoong for example, but not for Hero and for Jaejoong

Correct me if I am wrong ^^;

At the time shares were released profit for TVXQ fro m them were in ten thousands per year (more now) They earn much much more so those shares are just a nice small bonus and mostly HR/Marketing tool. If any of SM artists will decide to sell shares, they will need to sell them back to SM too.

I doubt SM will agree to any collab without putting it down on a contract especially in regards to the logistics (I hate this word but it fits) of the whole thing. And I can't see CJeS or JYJ entering into a contract with SM ever again. Let's see if they ever prove me wrong.

That's what I meant when I used stage name...cause the official stage names are Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and such. They own them together not separate except Xiah where they own Xiah as well. Sorry I was unclear ^^

Also, they don't own Tohoshinki but own THSK.

What I understand from few articles that I have read is that it was a stock option not a share to be precise. Stock options are usually bought by employees...so really only bonus they probably get is the dividend on those shares, which again I can't really saw how much or how less it is since we don't know what they get. Even while selling, do they get to sell it as per market price or strike price is important too. If it's market, they can still net some kind of profit...if it's strike, well then.

Also, I don't wanna create waves but very honestly, we don't know if TVXQ even bought these stock options since those are just something that is offered with no obligation to buy.

Anyways, I agree the shares aren't a main source of income to TVXQ.

I think a collab is a hard ask at the moment. Given that JYJ members themselves do not have a formal contract with cjes, I doubt if will happen unless both side comes to a common ground through a neutral sponsor. It may happen in the future if it is organized through third party sponsors for charity project for a start.

And those shares for sm idols are stock options. Stock options are merely given an option to exercise a  purchase at that particular price. And to date, there is no dividend given by sm  since it went public , thus making it not a blue chip stock but more of a speculative stock for capital gains. And the reason it  depends  mainly on Info for capital gain.On the other hand,YG  pays dividends to their stock . Looking at the shareholders list from the link provided earlier, I am surprised the nation pension funds holds such a large quantity on speculative stocks. They are the working people life savings fund.It is a high risk investment with people retirement money with stocks that do not give dividends. At least they are reducing their stake from previous years.

agree.

so basically they get nothing out of those stocks. nice to know.

lol I was surprised too...but I don't really know much about how retirement pension really work in Korea to comment about it. According to Wikipedia, "South Korea's National Pension Service (NPS), which oversees $430 billion in assets, were looking to buy a portfolio of blue-chip stocks from emerging markets"

I guess they know what they are doing. After all, Hallyu Wave did grown significantly and is still growing...it's not a bad investment for the time.

Junsu is probably feeling alone. I mean even if they were busy with individual stuff...but Junsu is close to only limited people. He isn't a social butterfly like JaeJoong or total recluse like Yoochun...he probably wants someone to hang out with or just discuss music. Must be lonely...

I can't get away from Hug. Its too catchy for me not to sing it. But I have to admit, I did ALMOST shed a tear when I heard it in Reply 1997. Didn't see that coming at all. The scene showed a group of girls singing the song in the car, with 'Mickey Yoochunn' ad-lib and all. I just.... *tears*

I don't have problems with all songs but I tend to tune out whenever jyj or duotvxq sing old song. I don't hate it or anything, but Im just not there when they do it lol. I took out my phone when homin sang heart, mind and soul in the dome. I was a rude ass mofa I tell you.

I know what you mean...I do that too.

It's not that I hate it. I just can't listen to it without a feeling of void inside me for some reason.

eh eh! there is one with Changmin too! Jae does it with Minnnnn tooooo or was it Yoomin?

I notice they still do these little gestures with each other. Homin does this dance clap thing, which Yoomin used to do with each other, and i think I saw Jaechun doing it too post split years.

it was jaemin but constantly through the years its been jaechun thing.

I just wanted to make an edit of it from the earliest I could find a decent video of...to the latest :3

I should do one for homin too. I suck at non-jaejoong edits. I am such an acgae.

I saw TVXQ do Love in the Ice live and it was... ridiculously and singularly beautiful

as for Changmin rock solos, it can't not be posted, cover regardless

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqnP-eryo4E

hell yess

Changmin's and JaeJoong's voices will go very well together if they ever decide to do a collab.

Hard and soft.

It surprising though as much as I love rock, A person like tears will forever remain my favorite solo from Changmin..

Also, can I say sth I find really funny with fans. It's the making up stories thing. It's like, there is a puzzle of 1000 pieces, fans have 5 pieces and yet they are under the delusion that they know how the puzzle looks like. I'm talking about the stupid comments that it's Yoochun and Changmin's fault that a reunion would be hard. Like... the amount of eyeroll is intense. You take a couple of quotes and you think you know the story? Why are people so ridiculous, smh.

/mini rant

lol. please.

it's like when people blamed Yoochun and Junsu for the split and lo n behold the person turned out to be JaeJoong. like shut up already. we know nothing. also, people like to forget that JYJ actually did try to not split DBSK but just leave the company. They actually wanted to be one group still. But life isn't all roses...you can't have best of both worlds (despite what hannah montana will tell you)...the split was a consequence, not an intention. People need to remember that.

just because yoochun doesn't wear his emotions on his sleeve any more doesn't mean he doesn't have them. he has talked about a possibility of a reunion...like far into the future at a fanmeet in 2015.  if I remember right, his words were..."thank you for supporting me as yoochun, jyj and even tvxq. we will meet again as JYJ and if it's okay, maybe even as five." If he didn't mean yunho and changmin...I don't know which other two people he talked about.

lastly, do I even have to highlight changmin has talked about jyj post-split esp yoochun. anyone remember that talk show where changmin talked about a knitted scarf?? who do you think it was about?? everyone knows it was yoochun given that dbsk has told this story before the split. but okay. whatever.

preach soulmate

Especially the "it's yoochun's fault they left sm", lmao. He just followed his hyung like typical Yoochun. Whoever believed in this bullshit clearly had no grasp of his personality. Even before Jaejoong talked about this, I knew Yoochun couldn't have been the one to initiate things. I blame that stupid fanfic, what's its name.

I actually laughed so hard that day when fandom learned that it was JaeJoong. All YunJae fans who had been hating on Yoochun/Junsu were left speechless. Not even gonna lie...it was fun.
