Yeah, I'll admit I gloated. The 'i told you so' game was strong.

personally, I honestly don't think they can work together any more as a group. JYJ is more concentrated on solo stuff...TVXQ is still more group oriented. If they get reunited, things would get much messier. the fandom is so divided. I believe that the hate is stronger than love for some. they will lose fans. also, it's not like they will be like old days. JYJ won't let go of their solo career to once again invest in the dbsk name. things just can't return to the way they were...I think fans will be more disappointed than happy that they reunited. I just don't see how things will work.

for me, I think I will be cool if they could interact and still be friends. I don't need a reunion from them. I just want them to be on good terms with each other.

From what I gathered, when OT5s talk about a reunion, they don't necessarily mean a group reunion. A concert, a public interaction, an update on their true relationship, all this counts as reunion to them. I would very much welcome any of these things happening.

A true reunion, like things used to be, is practically impossible and i think the majority knows that.

imo some OT5s do dream of a full on reunion. like TVXQ leaving SM after their contract is over and joining CJeS and then, DBSK will be back and at the top of the kpop charts. believe me they exist -.-

sometimes when I watch old videos, I do want to see them together on a show. seriously, can't idk running man do a TVXQ vs. JYJ...so we can get to see some of this....

Jaejoong said he was responsible for the split? How have I not seen this?

it's not that he was responsible. It's just seems like JaeJoong and Junsu were the ones who made the decision to leave SM. Yoochun followed them.

at about @5:00.

people especially YJ fans have always had this theory that Yoochun decided to walk first and JaeJoong/Junsu followed. I think it was just interesting to hear from JaeJoong how much it was his own decision.

I have actually thought for the longest time it was JaeJoong. Idk if it was a fanmeet or another interview...I don't remember where...he thanked Junsu for trusting in him and stuff. And in this video, it is clear Yoochun was the last one to join. So that's the only possible conclusion.

Honestly, I don't even remember my sources lots of time. It's lucky I remembered this video since I just made a gif-set from it. Sorry ^^

Hold on - what am I missing here? Where did the "turned out to be Jaejoong" come from? When did Jaejoong said it was his decision? I remember when Jaejoong once apologized to Yoochun because he kind of "followed" them (which kind of proves he is NOT the one who initiated this). I don't remember any other instance of mentioning who initiated it....

BTW - I don't count this Changmin story as talking about JYJ, like its too vague, he was really just looking for a story for Yunho. I honestly do think Changmin took the coldest stance in this whole split in the sense that he really did seem the most angry about this. That doesn't mean that I would blame him (or Yoochun - what the actual eff  lol) for the 5 not reuniting. In fact, Changmin was the one who said something along the lines of not forgetting their history. The comments on that thing were nonsense, I literally was so shocked ESPECIALLY the Yoochun mention.

refer to the video above. JaeJoong clearly says he and Junsu made the decision.

I think people forget that after all said and done, changmin was very much a child when the split happened. I don't mind him being angry. He would not be human if he wasn't. I think he was more hurt than angry. Despite what many fans think now, Changmin was much more closer to JYJ than Yunho. Them leaving must have hurt him.

I've seen this video several times and I remember him implying that Yoochun was kinda passive, like "I'll go with you so we'll be together" sort of thing but I didn't recall him saying he( jaejoong ) initiated it. I thought you guys were referring to something else I hadn't seen/ heard where he'd said that he was responsible. Thanks for the clarification.

lol me and Lina were being more crass. She is a Yoochun bias and I am a one too...we have had too much blaming on Yoochun thing. the popular theory has been that Yoochun wanted to leave because he was getting drama offers and he needed the money to support his mother and brother who he had recently brought to Korea. He is seen as the calculating mind behind the whole thing. When this interview came out and it was actually not him...moreover seemed like JaeJoong asked him...it was just satisfying to see all those haters eat their words.

I've always thought it was Junsu's idea because apart from changmin, he's the only other person who came across to me as being generally done with everything. It's just the way he talks about the circumstances at the time...

I read something where he said that he felt like he couldn't grow in that environment anymore, like it wasn't really the place for him anymore (I'm paraphrasing here, I can't remember his exact words). Anyway, I just got the impression that it might have been his idea.

For some reason, I always felt as if jaejoong and yunho held the least anger and resentment.

Yunho didn't/ doesn't talk much, but the little he said made me feel that he was just disappointed and regretful but never angry.

Jaejoong, on the other hand, talked way too much, but again I never got the impression that he was angry at anyone. That's why, while the yunjae reunion was nice, I wasn't really moved.

Changmin was a whole different story, lol.

Changmin/jyj reunion is where the truth is at.

from what I remember it was a combination of things. JaeJoong and Yoochun were the first ones to question the money they were being paid. There were fanaccounts at that time of them getting out of the SM building while shouting at the SM employees (I don't know it they were managers or the accounting department or ceo) about them being shady and stuff.

then when they couldn't get a proper response from SM, they sued.

I don't know who made the decison and all to sue. I remember the JYJ lawyer saying that he was initially supposed to meet all five but only three came at the end. Someone from Avex said the same too...that five wanted to leave at first but only three did. Hence, that popular belief that TVXQ got blackmailed by SM.

And then the mess got worse. when JYJ and SM didn't reach an agreement, they walked.

I don't know who said what but after all the things I have read, I do believe JaeJoong was the key decision maker.

Rest of course we will never know. I don't think anyone hates anyone. They have all moved on.

this thread has phases. right now it's in the active phase.

Yes totally, that's what I meant too - that I watched this video before where Jaejoong said Yoochun followed so I expected that Jaejoong and Junsu were the ones initiating the lawsuit. I was just surprised because i thought you said it was Jaejoong rather than Junsu/Yoochun but it was more like Jaejoong and Junsu. Sorry I must have misunderstood.

So true. I generally stay silent on this matter because I know that Changmin made pretty harsh comments with that geese comparison, but I don't know why its generally forgotten that he was quite young and more importantly, he was really really really close to them. In the sense that Changmin was not a social creature, ESPECIALLY those days and his circle of friends = SM buddies and TVXQ and them some others. So when you take that into consideration I don't understand how people would expect that this was not a possible reaction.

I am a hardcore Changmin fan and identify more as a current duo TVXQ fan, but even I cannot deny that what you say is true - Changmin was so much more closer to JYJ than he was with Yunho. I do not doubt that Homin's relationship was a great one before, but it was a very respectful one. No one knew how to make Changmin laugh and let loose like Jaejoong or Junsu and make him as comfortable as Yoochun.

I know some people say he would be over it, but I have a similar personality as Changmin and I remember in university, I used to be with a group of friends (ironically the similarities are insane - we were 5 friends, they were all the same age except I was much younger because I started uni earlier, each of us had a very special kind of relationship that was different and got along as a group). Things unfortunately and unexpectedly happened, bad things were said, relationships were ruined between certain people and there was no choice but for some of the friends to take "sides." I had to choose a side because the principal of the issue was too different and I couldn't just work along with both sides. As a result, we split up and the 2 sides have not contacted each other since 2008/2009. While I am well over it in the sense that I am no longer crying or angry over it, whenever I think about it, I become so sad. And I cannot talk to anyone about it except for my friends from the "side" I have chosen (again ironically we split into 3 and 2). It just becomes a deep scar that I do not want to speak about in detail with just anyone. So how can I not understand Changmin's silence on the matter? This is also what makes me believe that he would not be against a reconciliation per say, and that he isn't going to be the one against this happening if it was even possible.

This is of course a truly personal opinion, but I think gathering from the information in the court case transcripts and Yoochun's essay - that what might have happened was Yoochun was the one who was trying to get an advance and that opened the can of worms to their accounts and money they were earning. I do believe the whole team as 5 might have felt some sort of dissatisfaction, I really do believe that. I think where the opinions started splitting was when it actually reached a point where suing the company the and the possibility of leaving became an option. I truly believe that JYJ did not intend nor realize that the consequence of what they were doing involved leaving TVXQ until they were a little deep in it. I also do believe that the parents were strongly involved, so as much as Jaejoong and Junsu were involved, I think the ones who pushed things forward more were the parents. (PERSONAL OPINION).

I hate when people hate on Changmin because of his geese comment. I agree with everything you say.

Again agree with you about the whole lawsuit initiation thing. I do think when it all started, it wasn't meant to go as far as it went. It just built up to that. Also, absolutely parents played a big role imo. And nothing against them for that. I mean I am about the same age as DBSK when the lawsuit happened and I discuss everything with my own parents and ask about their opinion before I make a decision. So why wouldn't jyj or tvxq? after all they were thinking of making a life changing decision. If they wouldn't discuss it with their friends and family, who else would they go to? I am not sure how much part parents played but I am sure their opinions were well represented in the decision especially in Changmin's case who was very young to be making such a decision by himself. I am sure JYJ didn't take the final step without their parent's support either. I just think fans need to stop the hate on the parents for trying to do the best for their child and support them. Don't we all expect that from our own parents? Then why the double standard?

Speaking of post split fans... not really related to that but have you all noticed that the Korean general public still calls them by their stage names? All 4 syllables of them.

Recently there was a variety show with Kang Ho dong and they had to name celebrities who has 4 syllables name. Among the answers are 'Micky Yoochun' and 'Choikang Changmin.'

And Jae military friends who post pics of him on social media refer to him as 'Youngwoong Jaejoong'  still. And in military event posters as well they call him that.

My Korean professor also. "Ahh you like dong bang shinki? That Xiah Junsu is really good!" *thumbs up*

This Korean boy I briefly dated commenting on my room, "Is that Choikang Changmin on your wall????!!!"

lmao that will never change since that's how public came to know them at first. I know some people who still think of five when they think the name DBSK...especially the older Korean public.

Its either they still they are 5 or they think tvxq is no more really. i can't say for all but most I've met give me that impression.

Most of my Korean friends are my age and most of them don't even know they are still active... ;~; at most they know of Yoochun cuz of obvious reasons.

lmao a couple of my korean friends think tvxq disbanded in 2010 -.-

It's 10:56 pm for me (North American time too!) I would love to continue talking on this thread while at work but can't lol.

I did notice the use of the names btw - it confuses the hell of out of my mom too lol. I'm like oh I love changmin bla bla and then when they sub the name they're like Max. My mom is like I'm confused - who is Max??? Who is Micky?! She was so confused.

I'm so happy that this thread is alive because I honestly don't talk to dbsk fans so openly except here, so I'm really happy. All your insights are amazing too :)

it's so weird for me too. this thread honestly has phases. New users come in and discussions start aka the active phase. Then this thread dies after we have all discussed everything. Few months after, some other new users come and the discussions start again and we are in the 'active' phase yet again.

if you guys have twitter, let me know...so I can find you guys when this thread is dead again ^^

TBS?

K dash all the way O.o

Btw, if I remember well, Jaejoong recorded many songs before going to army and it was more than these 12 of his CD.

So... Maybe that he recorded a japanese single too? *o*

I hope that Japan will give him lot of love and that K dash will do pression on TV stations to let him go in varities shows + music station~

There are rumours of a mini album that might be released towards the end of the year before he comes back. Plus a concert tour and japanese promotions through kash in 2017.

Guys...I am so sad. There is a devastating forest fire going on in Fort McMurray in Canada. One of my friend's house was burned and an entire town of people lost their houses. The fire isn't stopping and there is not much anyone can do but hope for rain. Please pray for them.

Do someone know why nobody translated 'mawang' ?

Everyone (even no fans) said that's the best TVXQ's fanfic but we can't find a translation even 10 years after...

Even 'torn lily' been translated....

no idea. it was said to be a fucking good fanfic....Idk if it is true but I have heard that it was almost made into a movie but the writer rejected the offers. It's a Yoosu fic though...not yunjae. maybe that's why..idk.

I heard it was about 50% Yoosu, 40% Yunjae and 10% Changmin...

And even, Yoosu is a popular couple :s

I want so badly read it ><

I heard that she had more than 4 movie offers. She refuse because they wanted change the story with a hetero couple, etc...

I haven't read it so I wouldn't know. one of the korean bloggers just told me that if you are expecting a yunjae fic, you will be disappointed.

lmao TVXQ has so many talented writers. I wish she would have let them...at least we would know the story.

btw if anyone knows how to read korean, I have the link to the fanfic. please tell us about the story.

I like Junsu's new song. It's so sweet and summery. Very light and uncomplicated!

also, I do try to keep the OP updated for all the eng subs and stuff. Not single episodes though...it will be too much! So if you are looking for DVDs and stuff you might find some there as well.

personally, I like kokayz

it's mostly download but since I do make edits...so end up downloading anyway so I am fine with it. I just thought I would share.
