FloralPastel 393
Last month I tried out tampons for the first time and after some trial and error, I finally put it in right and it didn't hurt except the first few times that I put it in wrong. However, the time of the month came around again so I thought I'll switch over to tampons but this time it freaking hurt. Like it felt like I was hitting a wrong spot and I tried angling it many different ways but it still hurt regardless. I did it so easily last time but now??? What am I doing wrong? Should I just suck it up like the first time?
Lynnie 1,207
I've had that before- some tampons aint for you I guess. It could be the brand???
Only 1 U Need Connoisseur 6,671
If you put it in incorrectly then yes. But it should not. Just do it slowly. Squating on the toilet helps too. When you start to use them more you will not be bothered. For me it always hurts to take them out not put them in. Haha. Also make sure your are actually putting it in your VJ and not your pee hole.. I hear it is a common mistake among 1st timers and people who don't use them. Your VJ is not straight so you should be doing it at an angle. Bitchcraft 1,377
Don't listen to them, pads are disgusting, your outer vag gets covered in blood, gross tbh. You're probably putting it wrong, it shouldn't hurt at all. Did you try those mini-tampons? They're small tampons, like half the size of regular ones. Pretty tiny tbh, start with that at first imo

MK15 2,108
Pads are the worst I don't know how people deal with them tbh Tampons don't hurt unless you didn't put it right. Do you use applicators? they're easier

Hosh 1,349
i know everyone's like "if it hurts at all you're doing it wrong!!!" but as someone who's used tampons for years that's not always the case most often it is because you're angling it the wrong way, but sometimes your cervix is positioned too low for you to be able to use the applicator properly. if this happens, your best bet is to push it in with your fingers. sounds gross, but it's part of your body and you're not getting rid of it anytime soon, so might as well be acquainted with it lmao

xssulx 4,947
Whoever is saying team pads, have y'all even tried tampons before and more than once?? They make your life so much easier. It shouldn't hurt when you put it in though....maybe you're not relaxed enough? Did you angle it at 45 degrees? Push it in enough? Maybe you're using one for the wrong level of absorbency? peachtea 1,885
I never felt pain when I tried wearing one, but to me it felt annoying and invasive. I only have my period 6 times a year anyway.

Charmy 6,317
Yeah I had the same problem for the longest. Try using different brands and sizes. It takes a few tries to get it in properly (rip to all the tampons I wasted ) so don't feel discouraged.
