Junsu, IU and Taeyeon saying they will sue Korean netizens for being mean....

Have any of them done it ?

It seems to me just noise marketing.

Drop a few a few articles saying you will. Hopefully to try and stop the hate with no intention of doing anything legaly. Seems to work tbh.

Some kpop stars actually have sued people for internet comments, but yeah, it's mostly a scare tactic. taeyeon said she was going to sue people like 6 months ago and I don't think anything has happened since, so.

They'd probably target people who propagate rumours or threaten them, and not just mean comments; stuff that can be damaging to their reputation.

Noisy marketing???

Hateful comment is different with spreading malicious comment

Before junsu company already bring some netizzen to the court with jaejoong case . it's the first time jaejoong did this he usually doesn't care with what they say but when they brought his family into this they are done..

The case :

On February 3, C-JeS contacted the cyber investigation unit at the Gangnam police station to ask to investigate several netizens who have left hurtful comments on Kim Jaejoong’s Twitter account.

C-JeS also revealed their intentions to sue the netizens for slander and defamation for spreading false rumors about Jaejoong and his family.

The source continued, “Please consider the psychological pain that the family members are receiving due to these harmful comments. These negative comments have crossed the line. It has become too big of a scar for a public figure to handle. Of course there are damages to his image as well. We think these comments have crossed the line of being free speech as an anti-fan and that it can be considered as a crime.â€

The source added, “We hope the negative commenters will learn that their irresponsible words can be a huge crime.â€

C-JeS also posted a message on their Facebook, calling out the six netizens on Twitter for their harmful comments. They also posted screen caps of these netizens’ tweets, including one netizen who continuously tweeted hashtags with “Kim Jaejoong and his older sister commit incest†and another netizen who tweeted hashtags that said, “Kim Jaejoong is a complete pervert.â€

http://www.soompi.com/2014/02/03/c-jes-declares-war-on-internet-bullies-for-jyjs-jaejoong/

And the result for this case :

The monetary penalty ruling on the netizen who slandered the idol group JYJ’s member Kim Jaejoong has been finalized.

The Supreme Court Department 1(Chief Justice Cho Huidae) announced today(9/11/2014) that it upheld the lower court’s original decision of $1,500 fine for A(25 yrs old) who was charged for breaching the Internet Usage Promotion Law and the laws related to information protection(Slander) on August 20th.

A was indicted for posting malicious rumors about Kim Jaejoong and his family on internet message board from August to September of 2012.

So let see are is this really noisy marketing or not .... As far I know cjes a company where junsu and jaejoong belong always serious when its come to lawsuit

I don't understand how this would work though...like how can you sue them? I guess it could potentially fall under "cyberbullying" but I just see it working..because that's over 100 people from different locations..

Like this: http://www.allkpop.com/article/2015/05/netizens-who-spread-rumors-about-lovelyzs-seo-ji-soo-fined-and-convicted-for-summary-offense

Doesn't work on non-korean netizens though.

That's just two people though who were spreading false information about her, these idols are talking about sueing many people at once because they're saying they don't like them..

They are not suing netizens for being mean but for leaving malicious comments

Cjes is the one taking legal actions against those who leave malicious comments not only on Junsu but on Jaejoong and Yoochun as well.

IT IS NOT OKAY TO LEAVE MALICIOUS COMMENTS.

Cjes doesn't f around when it comes to malicious comments.

This is not the first time Cjes sued netizens

JYJ's company and LEON have sued people on the internet before. In JYJ's case they do it a lot, I remember there was some girl who was a minor so they sued her parents for defamation or something. In IU's case they sued some people for edited pictures posted on the internet and a couple other times for comments and stuff.

I don't think Taeyeon ever said she was taking legal action or anything just telling people to stop sending gore pics to her family members and asking fans to document it if they see anything.

Apparently in Korea actively spreading true negative information is still defamation.

http://klawguru.com/2015/05/16/recent-defamation-cases-1/

There's not much difference between suing 1 person or suing 20 people - just time and resources.

slandering, the spread of bad rumors and difamation  =/= mean comments.

is it really hard to understand? for real?  :imstupid:

this method works( in Korea) coz there are a lot of korean netizens who are mean/rude but people who defame ,said malicious rumours aren't that many in general. (At least not in public websites)

Simply coz knetz are obliged to use their personal ids when they are registered on portals as naver, nate, daum, etc. So police can easily know who you are, your info, phone, address. They gonna inform your family, your job..etc

why do you think even the crazy Sulli fan threatens to prosecute people who say anything about her.

cus in korea,if you said a person did something bad but have no proofs..you can get sued, you can even lose your job if your bosses find you were sued for spreading maliciuos rumors on internet.

that's why knetz doesn't want even write the names of famous people when some shady/creepy blind items/gossip come.

so many years being in kpopworld and people still do not know basic things like this   :imstupid:  :._.:

As far as I know, not.

But...

They were definitely noise marketing. They were just trying to make the haters scared.

I don't understand how this would work though...like how can you sue them? I guess it could potentially fall under "cyberbullying" but I just see it working..because that's over 100 people from different locations..

I don't get it too. I mean, they are going to sue people in the internet for being mean? They will sue people from all over the world then lol

I dunno how they would do to sue them honestly, and what about Inetz ?......, I think an empty threat is worst than no threat at all

It is possible to "sue most of your haters"...

There is a dearth of success cases, though, like actress Kim Ka-yeon who successfully tracked down her bullies and sued them. More than 90 offenders were uncovered in the police investigation, most of them in their 20s and 30s.

Edit: Moreover...

slandering, the spread of bad rumors and difamation =/= mean comments.

one thing are mean comments ....nobody cares if you think taeyeon is ugly or iu have no talent, you're entitled to have your opinion

other thing is making up huge stories to ruin someone else life .... spread lies as facts is wrong

and people who thinks its okay to invent stories about idols "just for fun" should be punished

nobody wants to end up like tajinyo (epick high anticafe) guys

idk about taeyeon but iu and loen sue people for real reasons like a hater that photoshoped some creepy pics of iu concert and also that guy that invented her pregnancy story .... those are not mean comments, those are lies

I already posted these links but for those of you who are asking...what about I-netizens?

C-JeS Entertainment has collected materials on these accounts, and has reported them to the Police Cyber Slander Investigation Team.

http://jyj3.net/2014/02/03/facebook-140203-jyj-official-update-warning-about-malicious-posts-on-twitter/

C-JeS sources spoke with Star News and said, “Since Twitter’s headquarters are located in America, we expect there to be a slight time delay but we will follow investigation protocols and take strong legal action against these commenters.â€

...and don't forget about Tablo's case too

Slandering and defamation is illegal on Korea. A lot of these keyboard warrior make up outrageous rumors, often times involving their families and close ones, they're not threatening to sue because they're just being "mean".

In any case, most are kids playing tough behind the relative safety of their computer, but they gotta learn that words have consequences. They make them apologize (although I think public service should be a minimum) most times, but they do go after the ones who make up strong rumors, like the sexual kind for example.

Quite frankly, still hard to prove and what are the standards. Is it only rumors? If I went and said Junsu is a piece of poop on my twitter, can they sue me for that too? It's not the truth after all, he's not literally a piece of poop...

There are so many sex rumors about celebrities, it amazes me the court could take this seriously. Tabloids also make up rumors about who's dating, you'd have to sue the whole country!

I'm not even a lawyer but this already sounds like an easy win.

PS. I believe one also has to prove there was a negative impact as a result of the slander, if I am remembering some aspects of how Korea deals with slander correctly.
