Taiwanese Dramas & Chinese Dramas Recommendations

Can anyone give any recommendation of T-dramas or C-dramas? I need them someday in case I need to brush up my Mandarin skill.

I dislike sappy too melodramatic things tho.

 

I've watched quite some of C-dramas and T-dramas but it was so long ago. The really good ones that I remember are Romance In The Rain and At Dolphin Bay. Back then I really like them.

I've been meaning to watch Princess Pearl someday too, but since it uses ancient Mandarin I guess it won't be much useful for improving my Mandarin skill.

Now it's K-dramas that are booming, I barely hear about any T-dramas anymore :/

Princess Pearl does NOT use ancient mandarin as far as I remember though.

 

甄嬛传 uses ancient mandarin, but it is such a good drama that it is worth watching even if you can't understand what they are saying, since it helps you understand a lot of how mainland China is.

HuanZhu Gege doesn't use classical Chinese, it's contemporary, Mandarin. Though it does play some what on 4 character idioms you should watch it! It'll improve your Mandarin :D

Ooops, yes that was me..my bad. I just realized that I saw it in Cantonese and when it's translated from Mandarin it becomes kind of old language in Canto. I totally forgot because it was such a long time ago lol.

I don't know if this as been recommended by someone already but you guys should give 

sealed with a kiss a try. The main guy is really not your typical nice good guy. He's a little evil sorta. 

The drama can be a little weird at times but it's really interesting. Even though it's not a rom-com drama that majority of people enjoy watching. It's a melodrama. Trust me I love funny dramas but this drama got me hooked. Don't be scared that it's seem like there's a lot of episode; it's a good watch.

People either really love Sealed with a Kiss or really hate it.

I like Harwick, but the evilness was hmmm....
