How often do you update your phone?

I had the same phone from 2004 to 2011 but with smartphones emerging and how I use phones now (like a pocket computer), i'll probably need a new one every 2 years. Any longer and the hardware will really become too outdated. I currently have a HTC Sensation which is a little over 2y/o and even the most basic tasks have a 5sec lag. It's slow as fuck. I'm just waiting for the Nexus 5 to come out.

I keep mine until it breaks or does something weird like call my roommate 20 times in the middle of the night. Even then I don't get new ones.

I currently have my little brother's old LG Encore. I've never had a new phone now that I think about it, just a "new to me" phone lol.

I usually keep it for quite a while, until it kinda starts to malfunction I guess.

Don't care much for the newest of the newest.

So far, I've generally had my phones for about 4-5 years each or so, I think,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 now.

Got it a few months ago, around the time the S4 came out.

My mom got a new S4 then (she cares more about the newest stuff than me xD), so I got her S2.

I have no plans to get a new one anytime soon.

Usually every 2-3 years.  I've had my current iPhone4 for around 2.5 years but I dropped it in the toilet (by accident of course) so I'm now borrowing a friend's old iPhone4.

A friend of mine is flying to the US this weekend and I've already given her the money to buy me a iPhone5s. Can't wait to have a new toy.
