[13.10.15] "This is not our comeback. This is our re-debut with our six original members."

20131015_1381773932_94732100_1.jpg

The past year was an eventful year for T-ara. Frequent activities, events, and more, but also all kinds of rumors and malicious comments that are countless. After promoting nonstop for four years, it seems like everything they had worked for was lost over the past year. They had a lot of opportunities in their career, but instead they just watched what they had already end.

On the 14th, T-ara met in a cafe in Gangnam to discuss this as well as their new comeback album released on the 10th. Despite all of this, T-ara were still smiling and satisfied with the result of their promotions so far.

"The response to our new album was better than we expected. We worried and talked about how the public would view us every day. It made us anxious, but we were all united to become better (as a group.)"

Despite various times they felt bitter about their controversy, all members admitted they have matured. Instead of promoting with the goal of #1 in mind, T-ara promoted with the thought of rewarding the fans who still believed in them. "We did in a way lose our original intentions. We weren't proud when this event had occurred. It made us realize how important our parents, family, friends and staff members are; and above all, it made us realize how important our members are."

T-ara will soon be into their fifth year of promotions since their debut. The members of T-ara have gone through many toxic changes. T-ara answered why they frequently changed their group. "Honestly, it's true of most idol groups. Our agency is full of staff who are experts and know what to do. The process (of changing members) helped us show better sides of us."

T-ara has gone back to year one. Their goal is simple. T-ara want to be loved every moment they can and do their best without regrets. They want to go back as soon as possible to the place they used to hold in their fan's hearts. "We think about how the past year was really difficult, but we were able to learn. It was a necessary time for T-ara."

Going to the broadcast station, meeting fans, and reading online articles.. they will keep this thought in mind. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow. "We will never lose the thoughts of beginners. We returned with our original six members with our hearts set as rookies. It's not a comeback. We feel like it's out debut again. T-ara will continue to work re~aally hard in the future."

Reporter ®: It's been a long time. How does it feel to be back?

T-ara (T): It has been more than a year since our last release so there's a sense of anticipation on our part.  This time we will work very hard for our Comeback and not let history repeats itself (HY incident)

R: The line-up change last Summer was a really big thing that you experience..

T: After the incident, we stopped activities in Korea for more than a year to self-reflect.  It was a "unwanted" rest-time for us, due to the circumstances that we were in.  We thought of the possibility of our fans forgetting us and also worried about those who were our fans.  Having experiencing those, it instead helped us to be more caring for those around us and our fans. Also, we weren't good at expressing our gratefulness to the people around us before.  Right now, we want to show every part of our it out.

R: If you have to choose the biggest change experienced for the past 1 year, what will it be?

T: We received a lot of love since debut and hence, being on stage seems like a natural thing. After more than a year of "rest", we are very grateful to be able to stand & perform on stages again.  We also appreciate the applause that we receive from our fans. Looking on the bright side, we have indeed gained a lot from the past time.  If the incident didn't happen, we may have become proud and arrogant and feel that being loved was natural. But what happened helped us understand the preciousness of those who silently support us & stand by us.  No matter how we see it, even though we have lost some fame(??), it has gave us the chance & time to appreciate other things.  Our fans have also became closer.

R: How did T-ara went through the past year?

T: When we were busy, we didn't have time to care for each other. Now that we have experienced so much, we interact more & are like family now.  We are closer than before.

[13.10.15] T-ara: "Our Ameican advancement became a problem because of too much hype"

77247581.jpg

Girl group T-ara opened up about their American expansion controversy.

On the 14th, T-ara met in Gangnam for an interview at a cafe to discuss their comeback and more. Regarding their American advancement, they said, "T-ara N4's entry into America was misleading because the information was exaggerated."

T-ara's unit T-ara N4 (Hyomin, Areum, Eunjung, Jiyeon) announced their a press conference in May that they received a love call from Chris Brown to enter the American market. In America, T-ara showed up on stage at a pool party, and the controversial performance affected T-ara's image once again.

Eunjung said, "We learned through articles that we'd be going to the Untied States. Suddenly, we quickly were preparing for the United States! We saw the place where we would be performing with Chris Brown and it was a party-type of place that we first thought would be contemptible."

Following, "We didn't like the feeling we had while performing on stage with the others just standing beside us. Despite this, we're still proud that we were able to perform on stage in a prestigious place like the United States."

Eunjung then said that "The United States advancement had too many expectations and hype surrounded around it, so it created a bigger problem in the end. Our company was expecting a record label contract and at the time saw a company offer us something good, so things didn't work out as we all thought (?)"

Meanwhile, T-ara are currently promoting as six with "Number Nine" and "I Know The Feeling".

They spoke about their youngest member by saying, "She will always be our friend, and she has a lot of greed (to be successful). She is probably still practicing in the practice room right now. She is doing very well."

Areum revealed when she left she will work hard to become a soloist and show a new appearance to the public.

T-ara released 2 titles recently and held an reporters' interview session talking about their Comeback feelings.

Soyeon: "Rather than say we are troubled, we are in fact worried to be precise.  There were parts in the new song that I was not confident on, hence, I was really worried.  The timing of album release is ver important, that's why we chose an appropriate window of opportunity. But maybe the other singers have similar thoughts, hence we are all concentrated in this time period.  It is not that we are scared of being overshadowed, it's just that we hope that our song will be still heard amidst all these new songs out there."

Hyomin: We are grateful to be able to have a Comeback at the same timing as Shinee, IU & Busker Busker.  It is already an honour to be able to be part of this Comeback group.  In fact we were worried that we were unable to join them.

SY:  Busker Busker is currently the most outstanding band. There are few bands that have experienced as much as us. Besides Busker Busker, there are also many good singers out there recently.  Even though we have debutted for 5 years, we still feel that we have short-comings as Sunbaes. Thank you everyone for all your support and love.

With regards to the changing leader system. T-ara expressed that "Although there is only 1 leader (at a time), we all still work together to get things done. So there isn't much difference actually.

Eunjung: The role of the leader is to mainly as an initiator and mediator between the differing views.  The rest of the members have their individual roles as well during our promotions. Even though there's only 1 leader, we still work together. But when the leader changes, the group atmosphere changes.  For eg when Boram was the leader, the feel was peaceful & harmonious.

Boram: When I was leader, I learnt alot and that was KKS hoped as well. I am the oldest and leader at the same time, so my character changed to be more lively and easier to get along aswell.

SY: When each of us become leader, we all have our individual strengths.  Boram is quiet & comfortable. Eunjung is very good at tidying things.  When we are busy going out, she will still do the greetings & tidying.  I am more apt at starting activities, eg, what we should do at the difference events/ places. Qri is good at communicating with our managers & the company. When Hyomin is leader, the overall fashion-sense of T-ara was heightened.

HM: When each of us become leader, we learn & understand more about the role of ourself in the group and the effects of it.  The most memorable part (of being a leader) is to represent the group to take the call from KKS.  At 6 am, he will call to say "Today is the release of the rankings, (did u) still manage to sleep?"/ "Have you seen the rankings yet?"  [T-ara laughed upon hearing this during the interview]

That's really sweet

She's not kidding that they learned a lot.

Right now is the best time ever to be a T-ara fan.  I don't think any group out there is more grateful for their fans at this point.

Ok I really just wanna face-palm right now. They really just don't know what to say.

[13.10.15] "This is not our comeback. This is our re-debut with our six original members." <-- you should have never said this.

T: After the incident, we stopped activities in Korea for more than a year to self-reflect.<--- and this never happened.

Who do they think they're kidding?

But they're right, things would've turned out much better without the media play and if they knew what they it was about.

lol what

Well they didn't have a whole group-comeback for over a year, and it was probably Soyeon who said it and she wasn't with N4.

MTE lol

So when was Sexy Love released?

It was already in the works and ready to be released, Hwayoung was even in the original recording. They wouldn't wait a year with an album that they'd already recorded, it wouldn't make the producers or staff happy.

One step at a time. I want this comeback to act as a catalyst for a better T-ara. Smart people learn from their mistakes (Twitter incident/Budokan concert). But the real sharp ones learn from the mistakes of others (general assumptions from public, in a wrong manner). Please prove to those sceptics and haters that you are the real deal, T-ara, like you used to be. Ftw! :)

but the why and how don't matter, the we-waited-more-than-one-year-after-the-accident just didn't happen

just like saying soyeon wasnt there so sub unit doesnt count, but it does count because it was called T-ara N4 (besides with the most popular members + hwayoung's replacement)

not to mention the drama(s?) roles in between

that just didn't happen

Did they really self reflect for a year though?

From what I see, they were all pretty pissed that they lost lots of love and support from general public and they basically have to start from scratch. They even have a 'I don't care anymore/who gives a s***' attitude

They have a right to it of course but don't claim to self reflect when you're clearly not

If you consider SL as during the controversy, and just count the full group (which is what they meant) then it did.

Dramas are individual activities, not music related, and were signed before that happened.

They spent a year without promoting new releases as a full group in Korea, only doing the SL promotions and stuff they'd signed up for.

Do you think they'd have to leave the country completely, abandon their Korean names and identities, cut their hair and live as monks for it to be true?

Sorry but your complete lack of flexibility is annoying me.

No I think that they would have had to stop activities in Korea for more than a year to self-reflect.

Which they clearly didn't do, and playing on the words isn't going to change their meaning.
