Thinking of Dyeing my hair... Need help :)

I've never dyed my hair before since it's not allowed in school, but now I'm in college, I was thinking give it a go.

I have a dark Asian hair... Not exactly black but it's dark.

 

I want to achieve somehow this kind of result

 

I'm only going for an ombre 

 

Any suggestions how I start? I heard it's difficult to dye a dark Asian hair since a lot of bleaching is usually needed but I'm not so sure.

 

Also what brand should I use? My friends recommended me Manic panic is good for these kind of colors but they said it fades quickly. If there's any, something that would take me a long time to re-dye since I don't really want to stress out my hair.

I like softer tones on darker hairs... otherwise, what's really the point? =D

honestly for ombre just go to a salon since its so easy to fuck it up

if you want that kind of result, definitely go to a salon.

so much can go wrong with bleach.

 

you'd probably have to bleach your hair, then tone it.

if you want a specific kind of purple you might have to mix different colors together.

always test it out on a small piece of hair before doing all of the hair!!

For an ombre it is beter to go to an hair salon. I did my ombre once by my mom and it was horrible a year after i cut my hair and did it again in a hair salon and it was much beter it looked like it was natural.

I strongly suggest you get your ombres done at a salon. I tried it for my sis and it was a total disaster especially with the bleaching and all. She had to chop more than half her hair off.. (she has dark hair) 

 

Plus, if you went to the salon they would be able to fix the issue immediately if something were to go wrong/ (and they know what they are doing) , whereas at home you would need to find a temp fix till you go to a salon to fix it.

From the pics you've posted, it seems that you want a dark purple ombré. I've dyed my hair purple before (I have dark Asian hair too) and I don't need to bleach it. I don't think you need to bleach your hair either. The color will still show.

 

But like the others said, it's better to go to a salon.

As others have said, go to a salon. Your hair will need to be bleached and it will have to get pretty light before you can put a color like that on your hair.
