I'm just now watching all of TTS's performances for Dear Santa and I'm even more disappointed than before... I was really such a huge fan of TTS even up until Dear Santa. But honestly... they went from being a really great thing to a joke! Twinkle, great debut. Great album, great visuals, great performances. Holler, mixed opinions, still a nice effort, got some cute bops, even killer Adrenaline choreo, try again next time. And then Dear Santa.... was a joke... A complete joke. Firstly, TTS's whole thing is being "vocally entertaining" (as Tiffany describes it), and doing music they can't do with the whole group because of the diverse voices and balance of skills. Yet they've gotten rid of the difficulty their debut songs had. OT8 could sing Dear Santa without problem, live! The intro is the best part! I really expected some epic, Miracles of December-esque ballad and we got... something that could've been in an ABC Family holiday musical film. And honestly the runs are kinda extra and uninspired but still better than the rest of the song. Doesn't Dear Santa just sound like an updated Snowy Wish? Where's the edge, the funk, the soul... That's what made TTS, TTS. You've got to be kidding me with the lip-synced performances. TTS is supposed to be a vocal subunit. So where are the vocals??????? Tamest choreo they've had, they hardly move so this is no excuse. So what are we watching this for? Twinkle and Holler had lipped perfs too but they promoted them much longer, and had more energetic choreo (mainly Holler), AND were harder to sing. I think Winter Story was also lipped and that's even sadder. Where's the chorus? They give a song like You Think to SNSD and Dear Santa to TTS... They had such an amazing debut with "Twinkle", then came up with the lackluster "Holler", but still, had a TTS feel... "Dear Santa" tho, tragic. SM could do better, much better. I mean I would have liked Dear Santa to have matched the teasers/intro and they could have done a lot with it. As for their brand being ruined? Nah. Disappointments happen and some of y'all get so frustrated acting like it's the end of an era or something. Like when SNSD was promoting Oh! people we're like RIP music and performance quality SNSD will never be good again. It's Kpop. Disappointing comebacks are not irredeemable.
