Who bought their Powerball ticket?

My parents did.

I did as well. First time ever buying a lottery ticket, too. $900,000,000...I mean I just have to take the chance.

If someone doesn't get it it goes up to $1.3billion

Can you imagine? Here's hoping you live in one of the six states that lets you retain anonymity if you win...

it's insane! still $500M (after tax) is a crazy amount of money...what do you got to lose by buying a few tickets?

but the chances of you (us) actually winning is astronomical! lmao

just imagine the person who'll actually win! they'd be set for life all the way up to their future great-great-great grandkids

Unless their family hired a hitman, or you get kidnapped...........people need to know the dangers of winning!

true...one of the dangers of winning...but it's expected

youll see people youve met once in your life trying to hassle you and befriending you....you'll see family members youve never met before do the same..

but i guess you just have to prepare yourself if you do win...

and iirc, powerball winners do not apply for the anonymity clause, so yeah

I mean...I bought 3 tickets. 15 numbers altogether. Good luck y'all!~

But could you tell me the six states that allow you anonymity?

Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, North Dakota,Ohio and South Carolina

Sadly I live in Michigan. I was reading up on this one guy that won; he went to collect his winnings fully covered up without any of the press or fanfare. That still doesn't protect you from friends and family or anybody that knows you, though. If I win I'm just getting the hell out of dodge and moving out of the country and will most likely change my name.

edit: OH but there is this

Other states, however, permit winners to create limited liability companies, so that when their names have to be announced, it's the companies and not individuals that are identified.

So you could just hire a lawyer and have them represent you so your name doesn't have to be announced, I guess.
