Official K-Hip Hop/R&B Discussion Thread

I really love K-Hip Hop and it's my favorite music genre (even more than kpop). I've been meaning to seek out more artists but I have no idea who to listen to. Can anyone recommend me some artists and songs?

I already stan BTS. I don't know if B.A.P and YG artists are considered hip hop but I stan them too. The only artists I want to stay away from are B-Free and Swings.

Also, I wish Jessica Ho would come back to the music scene. She's the best female rapper I've ever heard and I'd love to hear a hip hop album from her :'(

I also forgot to mention that I liked some of Soul Connection's stuff in 2009. Are they still together?

not exactly sure what kind of khiphop you like, but these still get plays from me

extremely long post cause i have no idea how to hide vids in spoilers lmao

i think this list was diverse enough no?  hope you enjoy it lol

tbh i would post more but theres just way to many to list. haha

EDIT: Just finished reading ur post. (lol) is there a particular reason why you dont want to listen to swings? not really much of a fan but hes putting out great music right now tbh

Thanks for all the songs! I enjoyed them, especially the MC Sniper, Pe2ny, and Tiger JK ones. And I like any kind of hip hop so don't worry haha.

Swings is openly a homophobe so I do not wish to listen to him.

you'll find that most people in this thread are on B-free's side... best to be quiet when it comes to that subject

Ahh okay. I can tell already because I've been down voted lol.

Immerse yourself in this glorioussness that is Pinodyne

And I think someone mentioned Free?  No? Then have some Fana. :troll:

And I almost forgot Swings Jay Park :har:

You better like these or we can't be friends. :unimpressed:

JK. I'm nice.  Look at all the smiley's I used :imstupid:

Thanks! I really like the Garion and Pnodyne songs, I'll definitely check out more of their stuff. And thanks for the Fana and Jay Park ones even though I don't like Jay Park either  :derp: I noticed there's quite an absence of female artists in this thread. Are there just not that many female hip hop artists in Korea or is the music taste in this thread more favorable towards the songs of the male artists?

idk about the others but i personally love female artists... i think, if i'm not mistaken, i posted a handful of them in the past... but anyways since you feel like its lacking i'll liven the thread up a bit with a few female rappers and hip hop artists

yeeeeeeeeeessss I loved all of those songs. Definitely checking these ladies out. I wish more female hip hop artists were popular. I'd love to see Kim Yuna/Euna/(however you spell her name) come out with more stuff.

When a bunch of people come together and exchange rhymes and lyrics back and forth. Cyphers nowadays are often pre-written, it can be freestyle like on top off your head tho. And it's more about the rap skills, like spitting hard over a beat and showing off your skills. There is not really a song structure like e.g. intro - verse - pre-chorus - hook - verse - hook -  bridge - verse outro or whatever. it's just rap after rap, verse after verse.

well i don't really know if there is an exact korean version of j.cole, but i'd have to say that Wutan is quite similar in both flow and well sorta voice i guess..

b-free is quite similar too

Ohh thank you! I do see some resonance, but I'll have to hear more of his stuff though so I'll go listen to his discography.
