do you like 'russian' heavy melody parts? always gives me a lot of anxious feelings tbh

edit: and thank you for sharing:)

I do :)  I love a lot of the russian composers (Rachmaninoff, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov but for some reason Tchaikovsky not so much) --- the music is so passionate and moody and rich.  I kind of wonder if that "heavy" taste is part of the reason I dislike most of Mozart's compositions (they feel too fluffy, I know they're playful and most are technically difficult).  For piano I definitely lean more towards the Russian, French (Le Six and some impressionists like Ravel and Debussy), and German composers (Beethoven and Bach are probably my two most favourite to play).

such heavy melodies were often used in old russian movies (about war in particular) so to me this music carries dreadful desperation in some kind. passionate is good like Beethoven's solemn passion without 'we are all gonna die from freezing and starving' feeling. lol i guess i really dislike those clearly expressed russian parts. just realised. really hate them.

edit: also Debussy. +1. and i missed it but you play piano :) :) :)
