Do you think Adele would be a better role model if she lost weight?

I'm not saying that she needs to become bone skinny, but like a more healthy size like that of Demi Lovato

People keep saying that she's a great role model in terms of body image for girls to look up to, but she's not exactly a figure of good health

Well, is she obese? As in unhealthy obese, like in medical terms. I mean, some girls are curvy, some girls are thin. Men too.

But my concern starts with if they are obese or underweight or overweight, then that's the problem. We only see her from the outside and we don't know if she is really unhealthy when it's just judging from her physical figure.

Idk I'm not a health expert but this is from my pov

No, I think she'd be a better role model if she wasn't all high and mighty about her weight. She acts like she's a better person just because she's fat.

Fat is unhealthy. dont know why people and the media are trying to promote it as if its beautiful. Thats the problem with fat america.

Beauty is subjective, health isn't. They can say it's beautiful all they want, but they can't say it's healthy...

Well her voice and passion would stay the same right? That's enough for me for her to be a role model.

If is better than have a role model that suffers from anorexia or bullimia.  :wut:

Just because she's comfortable with her weight it doesn't mean being obese (which she is) is fine. If she was truly a role-model, she'd encourage healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle, but she doesn't. On top of being obese she also smokes - her lifestyle could lead her to develop diabetes, lung disease, gout, hypertension etc. Obesity is not healthy and is certainly not something that is "OK".

Also, I totally disagree that being a healthy weight could lead to eating disorders - do you not know that obesity IS an eating disorder? You aren't controlling the amount of food you intake and you're eating excessively, a person like that is not a good role model.

Adele acts all high and mighty just because she's proud to be "curvy", I'm sorry, but there's a fine line between being curvy and being overweight and on the road to having diabetes. She would be a role model if she encouraged people to be healthy - not skinny because that isn't healthy, either - but a normal weight where you are at less risk of developing health problems. In a world were many people die from weight related illnesses, Adele cannot be seen as role model if she's obese.

I do not think being "fat" that making her a role model rather that her music and voice and the fact that being who she is made her successful in an industry where you have to be in a certain way, proformat. But people should stop putting  stars on pedestal and following them to determine what they have to do star are star they are not role model for me anyway.

No. I don't think she's a good role model regardless for her body size, more so a role model just for the simple fact that she's not incredibly unhealthy looking but honestly I feel like not -that- many singers are that skinny anymore. I don't really find her to be a role model at all tbh.

I do however want to say that I think she has an extremely pretty, almost "classic" face. I feel like if she did choose to lose weight she'd have an almost Marilyn Monroe appeal to her. I just hope she wouldn't lose her any of her singing ability like Jennifer Hudson seems to.

Her voice may change depending on how she loses the weight and how much she loses. Look up Maria Callas and see how weight loss affected her voice.

Overall, I don't think weight has to do much with being a role model. You can be a healthy, limber, acrobat but if you constatntly bully people, curse, go crazy in public, and a whole bunch of other bad things, isn't all that "healthy, skinny thing" for nothing?

She already lost a tremendous amount of weight in comparison to how she looked in 2008, being a role model has nothing to do with weight, especially when you're talking about a larger person. The media brainwashes kids way too much with the idea of being skinny and there are more skinny successful artist than overweight, so I doubt young people will see her and immediately think "OH LETS GET FAT". No that's not the case, she's fine the way she is.
