[Hollywood Reporter] Lu Han Releases Official 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Music Video

Often described as China's answer to Justin Bieber, the 25-year-old pop star has a massive online following in the country, where he is promoting the movie as Disney's "honorary Jedi."

Chinese pop star Lu Han, Disney's "honorary Jedi" and brand ambassador for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in China, released a music video Thursday for "Inner Force," the film's official Chinese theme song (see the video below).

The video features shots of the baby-faced 25-year-old star singing and dancing in an industrial warehouse, along with extensive footage taken straight from the film. It is all but certain to go viral in China, where Han commands a massive online following (he has nearly 12 million followers on Weibo and holds the Guinness World Record for most comments on a single post).

Thanks to his boyish looks, messy mop of hair and legions of young female fans spanning Asia, Han has often been described as "China's answer to Justin Bieber." In March, Disney announced that he would be serving as an honorary member of the "Jedi Order" in China, appearing prominently in the studio's local marketing campaign.

More on Lu Han and his growing Hollywood sway here.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in China on Saturday (Jan. 9). Now the world's second largest film market, the territory is the final piece in Disney's globe-spanning distribution plans for the film.

Watch the music video for "Inner Force" below.

Ok I love Luhan but.. WHAT?

At this point, you're either gonna be called Asian Justin Beiber, Asian Beyonce, Asian (insert any white celebrity here) by an American media outlet. He doesn't describe himself as JB, but he's been called that by people in the US (because they don't actually care to do research, they know he's cute and has a lot of fans).

I know that but.. WHAT? Why do they compare everyone to Justin Beiber.. omf. They need 2 stop.

He's really pretty, his song will promote Star Wars well in China  :) The lead cast of Star Wars is the young girl too, so Luhan sings it brings youth feeling to the movie, as it should

Well, I guess it's official that I'm going to have to stab someone in the ass~ I'm literally sick of people insulting my man by comparing him to Justin Beiber. EVERY TIME!  :megusta: Like as if people want another Justin Beiber and are trying to throw out their own versions to compete with him~ Do these people even do their research before writing these articles?

STOP THIS

And if you ask me, this article looks even more ignorant because they keep calling him "Han" as if that's the man's last name~ Like WTF?  :megusta:

Everytime I see the world "legions" I chuckle because it sounds so ominous. You know, like "legion of demons." Makes it sound like the fans are some kind of mob or something

The people who usually write these types of articles see fans like that, sadly.

I also think they see fans as teenagers with raging hormones so they write it like that. Some people make our image worse too.

But well, I think I'll stop since it's such a negative thought and I don't like dwelling over it.

Corny.

They need to stop the Justin Bieber comparison..for one Justin Bieber actually can get away with the "swag" thing somewhat and has creative talent. Luhan? Bitch where?

no he can't, lol besides luhan isn't trying to be "swaggy" if he was he would be promoting lu, tgg and adventure time more heavily. the only thing corny here is your desperation to drag him.

I liked the song, great job. It fits more the movie than... you know.

Thumbs up for having English lyrics.

"China's answer to Justin Bieber." <--- nope. why calling the Justin Bieber when they can just say "hugely popular Chinese star Luhan"
