Hi guys! Another Baekyeol shipper here. It's good to see the thread being more alive lately! Until now I was actually more active in the gay thread since Baekhyun is my bias and he was and is discussed there pretty often, but I'm actually tired of the attitudes of some people over there. People who never tried to looked deeper into Baekyeol, yet they dis the idea of them having feelings for each other so easily. Or post things such as "Baekhyun doesn't pay attention to Chanyeol anymore", or "Chanyeol only interact with Baekhyun for the sake of cameras". I mean, what a load of bs. Sorry, I had to went a little.

 

Anyway, Baekyeol is the OTP for me, and epitome of soulmates. I'm not a person who is a shipper in general (or I wasn't until Exo), and it took me years to feel like I've finally found something special again. To me, the relationship between Baekyeol although sometimes difficult is so genuine and beautiful. I love how subtle they are, and how they can convey so much by looks and body language alone. That's not so common. Like you've said, thy have undeniable chemistry together.

I love all Baek ships, honestly, though some a little more than the others, but Baekyeol... Baekyeol is special. I've never seen Baekhyun being so happy... so radiant with any other member. There is almost a glow around him when he is near Chanyeol. And Chanyeol is so damn happy when he is with Baekhyun. It's like he can't stop spazzing, and laughing, and smiling from ear to hear and looking at Baekhyun like Baekhyun was the the eight wonder of the world.

Chanyeol is definitely harder to read in Chanbaek relationship. He makes me doubt all the time, and my speculation about his feelings for Baek kept fluctuating like the sine function lol. My take is deep down he still hasn't figured out how he should feel about Baekhyun, and he still has doubts about his feelings. Let's say you have been thinking for 20+ years of your life you are straight like an arrow, but sometimes your bestfriend made you think maybe you have been wrong about your sexuality, because you shouldnt have that kind of feeling to your bestfriend, right? Something like that, and I have friends thinking that way. But then, he seems like the case more leaning on the 'mostly heter, incidentally homo' to me, and might just fall for one same-sex person/type of person. There are days he treats Baek like a real bestfriend, nothing more, but there are days he's like head over heels with Baek. He's still kinda careful around Baek lately although they are a little bit more comfortable again in public. I can't never get over their moments in Shanghai concert. Chanyeol concentrated on Baek toooo much you can see he couldn't take his eyes off of Baek the whole time of their crazy laughter, and even when Luhan came and started hitting, he didn't appear noticing hahaha. And then Baek started hitting him while they were running down, Chan got excited and hyper immediately, and then Baek touched him several times to give him cue 'thats enough, behave', and Chan became obedient and calm down. lol. Sorry I re watched that part too many times so it carried me away. So much feels. Anyways, moments like the one in Shanghai concert let me reconfirm my opinion on them. They are still one of a kind OTP. 

 

Your description and post as a whole was very accurate, at least from my point of view. Although no-one can say what's correct and what's incorrect when analyzing a person per se, I have the slightly same point of view on Chanyeol. 

 

The bolded part, yo! Are you me? I've always pictured this happening, especially in Chanyeol's case! Also, like you, I've seen it happen so many times, through friends and non-friends that I'm just uber convinced on that it can happen (and more than probably happens very often). Sometimes you think you are utterly and completely convinced about yourself, and in comes a person who just turns everything upside down and really, nothing makes sense anymore. Complicated indeed ;A;

 

Oh and Shanghai was perfect, hands down. Every Baekyeol shipper legit died that day 

 

 

In my honest opinion and the way i see it, i think they may have gone through ~the talk~ and sorting out whatever feelings they have hence why that separation lapse happened... it also was enough to maybe think certaint hings through and properly. You can't keep up a relationship of friendship with someone for so long knowing you both have feelings and not do anything about it because in the long run it affects you and your relationship.

 

I think Chanyeol is aware of his feelings and accepts them and i don't see him as someone purely straight, i think he's a "whatever" kind of guy, whoever he likes/fall for he may not care or think much of it. Baek however... i'm not sure but probably took time to come into acceptance about it (maybe not so much that it was a guy but it was chanyeol of all people, a bff and bandmate... that must be hard) so i think that they will always feel like walking on eggshells sometimes, not because of their feelings or that they haven't talked about it but more on the fact that they don't want to flaunt it or create a buzz or be the talk over it.

 

I think fi that's the case then i completely understand Baek's reactions because he would probably feel overexposed if he's being shipped with chanyeol and having people overanalysing everything they do and make posts about it because i would to, hence the reason why i would take the same route (funny because people do thata nyway but ofc they're all aware of how the fans treat these subjects already, that's for sure) but also i almost feel like he's scared of chanyeol (another reason for me to think that), scared as in, don't tease me and do this or that in public, we discussed it and i'm not comfortable because he's self concious.

 

And all this stems from the fact that as i always bring up, Baek has no rpoblem doing skinship with everyone else BUT chanyeol... Really, WHY? that's his bff and roommate...

 

I feel like if it was up to chanyeol, he would perhaps be super touchy with Baek everywhere, all the time. Almost at Myungsoo's level with sungjong i think but yeah...

 

Very interesting point of view, especially the first bolded part. What really amuses me is that different people have different opinions on Chanyeol, he's just that difficult to read. Like I said though, nobody is right or wrong when scruntizing a person's sexuality. Would you mind sharing with me the reasons as to why you think Chanyeol is a "whatever" type of person, who just falls for whoever, regardless of gender and such? Because it sounds interesting, and I'd like to hear what you have to say.. Or is there no reason behind your thoughts and it's just a gut feeling? Because that's very possible too lol

 

Regarding the second bolded part, this is a question all of us ask ourselves. One of the reasons as to why shipping Baekyeol is so fun, if you ask me. They're just like waiting to be decoded. It's so strange, that Baekhyun and Chanyeol are both skinship machines, and yet with each other they abstain and shy away. It's both a good thing and a bad thing, but interesting and unique all over!

I love baekyeol and they are the only ones I ship romantically but I think some of you guys are overanalyzing and being just a bit delusional.

I think Chanyeol and Baekhyun are just friends and Baekhyun thinks Chanyeol is really cool or something. Either that or Baekhyun used to have a tiny crush on him. I doubt Baekhyun would discuss this "crush" and these "feelings" with Chanyeol even if they were there because it's not acceptable to be gay or bi in Korea. I think during their separation period, they simply wanted to hang around other members and now that they are EXO-K again they show more skinship because the other members arent around.

Being realistic: they're just good friends

Being hopeful: Baekhyun has/used to have a crush on Chanyeol

 

Well, everyone has different views on things. Actually, most if not all of the people here believe Chanyeol and Baekhyun are just friends, and that Chanyeol is straight. But, people are complicated. That's why neither you are 100% right on your opinions and neither are those who think they are head over heels for each other. It's a very subjective matter.. They are good friends, there is no denying that. That is actually the truth, but whether or not there are any other feelings involved, well.. I don't think any of us can be completely sure, but everybody is free to share their insight.

 

Also, I don't think delusional would be the right word, because the dictionary describes delusional as "having a bad judgement or believing ideas/theories that have proven to be false, caused by a mental illness"... I don't think anybody here has a mental illness, and nothing has or can be proven completely true or untrue. So, I really don't understand why people use the word 'delusional' so often when discussing subjective, opinionated matters...
