The Possibilty Of A Fair Society and The Future Of Gender Relations

Cloud Of Perception

Recommended Posts

I will address two topics in this, first will be my opinion on the possibility of having a fair and equal society and two will be the rate of singles around the world and how that will effect the world and why its not an issue imo.

In my viewpoint the only way to truly stop sexism on both sides is to value the individual over gender.  I think the way most looks at someone's gender already puts them in a position to be judged with pretenses they dont necessarily deserve themselves.  I noticed all types of social movements begin in one foundation and that is the favoring of one specific type of person.  I have come to entertain the thought that true equality is unfortunately not possible because an egalitarian society is not possible thanks to large amounts of people from both genders need to surpass, oppress, use and class each other.

I think the rise of the Herbivore Man and Dried Fish Woman movements in Japan could be a small preview of what's to come for the western world, marriage rates are dropping while divorce rates are through the roof, the rates of people choosing to be single is always increasing almost yearly.  Do you think we are headed towards a society of single people and do you think as governments panic they will enforce laws to lock down any potential couple they spot with new laws, my country is already starting to do this with their marriage laws. Japan has even proposed a singles tax that has been rejected multiple times but its only a matter of time imo before they panic and pass it.  Outside of the bully tactics and shaming that will take place in order to force singles back to coupling by government and society I dont think this is an issue because this is actually good for humanity and the world overall, the large overpopulation will drop, this however place the human race in the dangerous position of extinction but this will not happen for hundreds of more years even if these movements were to catch on.

What do you think

I think fighting gender inequality and misconceptions of the opposite sex will do a lot to help with romance and all that because some men just dislike women and vice versa, sometimes because of fear or poor experiences from the opposite gender.

Either that, or we could forget all about marriage and make a polyamorous lifestyle universal and not have to worry about relationships and shit. But that would be pretty difficult because lots of religions are huge on marriage and monogamies even though that "marriage" thing is just something we made up.

My theory is that a lot of men and women are too far gone to understand and accept each other, from birth we are set up as rivals and are constantly told how different we are.  In a extreme scenario I could see men and women choosing to live in isolation from each other.  The only solution to all the constant fights and hate some of each gender have for each other is to chose a life of being single but I'm sure the media and government will never lose out on their prized loot of couple culture so this will likely be some sub-culture that is shamed and branded into whatever fits their agendas at the time.

I think the rigid gender roles and stereotypes, as well as there being a gender dichotomy in general just creates more division and an 'us against them' mindset. If people stopped viewing gender so rigidly there would be less focus on gender in general and they'd see others as people instead of being defined by their gender as much.
