Is seolhyun in aoa black? I didn't see her in the vid. Just curious, how much of AOA's popularity stems from Seolhyun? Like if she weren't to promote with the band, would that significantly decrease interest? Bc I know that Jimin and Choa are fairly popular as well, but undeniably, Seolhyun's popularity and AOA's general rise in popularity kinda coincided with one another. 

 

All that aside, I hope they produce a good song because there aren't enough girl bands out there besides the new and improved wonder queens

Band concept is the only way Youkyung can promote with AOA again, though, since she's a drummer and doesn't dance. It's why she was missing for their past promotions (Short Hair, Miniskirt, Like a Cat, Heart Attack). 

 

Nope... AOA dances aren't very hard at all... She could have spent the last 2 years learning how to do some dance moves easily; but the real problem is that it simply wouldnt work if they plopped her in the middle of the dance group because everyone is so used to the existing members. It'd be like Yeri situation but way less doable seeing how established AOA is now. Honestly if she left the group no one would care and AOA wouldnt lose popularity, but she's still signed to a contract so it's a bit of a predicament. I don't think the band concept is going to work as well  though as what AoA are doing right now with catchy-hook songs

there is a legit source the CEO said last year and at the beginning of this year a company representative also mentioned AOA Black coming back

This had to happen. AoA Black was never officially ended so it was kinda just hanging out there doing nothing but still existing. There had to be a time to bring it back just once more and see if there was any interest or not. People kept asking for it so it's time to see if that interest was serious or not. At least this way they will know what to do with the band once and for all.

 

Also yes I agree that the band won't be as popular as the whole dance group but that is natural in a sub unit. They aren't supposed to be as successful as the main group. Otherwise if the subunit is more successful then you should just have the subunit and disband the group. So I don't expect it to do better than the full group but it still needs a comeback to see who really is interested. The song will be vital though.
