OP deleted the thread since it took 5 pages to realize all of this was nonsense. Park Bogum isnt into a cult, people. The post was uploaded on Instiz( popular korean community ) by a netizen. This is nothing different from posts uploaded on Pann. It is highly subjective and the claims cant be backed up with proof. From Koreaboo: "On a popular Korean community called Insitz, netizens recently discovered a post claiming that rising actor Park Bo Gum is actually a part of a cult". What were the so-called evidence? I quote: "Jesus Centered Church is a branch of Christianity that is a massive cult in Korea that claims that their minister Lee Cho Seok is a man sent by god who is capable of exorcising demons and curing illnesses". Hum...okay. How is that strange? Healing and casting out demons are part of Christianity, especially the protestants and pentecostal branches. This is common in many churches all over the world. Just because you dont believe in it or dont understand it doesnt make the people following it part of a cult. Protestants are often bashed based on those misconceptions/stereotypes: Too loud when they pray, too devoted to God. Some even see them as "crazies"...I can relate. So these were the evidence in this thread and on Koreaboo So-called evidence meant to prove the pastor was a scam. Even the video uploaded was regular church service on sunday...no shady stuff. Yet people jumped on this and drew conclusions based on a post uploaded by a random netizen without solid proof. Most comments were putting him down, telling Irene to "run" or afraid he might "recruit" V. I wont even comment on this. All I´m saying is: before judging someone´s spiritual life based on a koreaboo article, wait for proof. There is a reason why this post didnt blow up in SK considering Bogum popularity. He presented himself as christian, believes in God and goes to church. Thats all. Lets comment based on facts and lets not spread unconfirmed information. Innocent until proven guilty. People are always so defensive about any discrimination occurring regarding race or sexuality but as soon as religion enters the picture people start bashing like the religious can't also be discriminated against. It is so easy to attach the term "cult" to a religion when you don't understand it. It's not like this church is performing human sacrifices or hurting anyone. To anyone that doesn't know: Catholic priests are also claimed to have the ability to perform exorcisms of demons. Now, it's up to you if you believe what power they hold is true or not, that's fine. But you don't see people calling all Catholics cultists, and if you do, it's likely for the same reasons this church was also speculated to be a cult. Not like he is shoving his belief down your throat or asking for donations from fans for this church or whatever... so yeah? His beliefs are personal. But you do realize canibalis ritual, or sacrifial ritual use this exact same excuse that's in your thread. Believing in it doesn't excuse act of insanity or hate. Religion is great if you get the good moral and life teaching from it but there's such things as too much. But for the specific bogum case he doesn't deserve the hate. But it is a huge turn off. Imo people want to start a witch hunt against him and this is the only thing they can cling to. People are also more vocal about their hatred towards Christianity in general. Its gross seeing people saying things like they no longer like him cause his a Christian even if he isn't part of a cult. Like imagine if someone said the same thing about a Muslim. "OMG his religious? Pentecostals do those things, so I really wish that you wouldn't get it twisted and make my faith appear more ridiculous than people already view it as. T.D. Jakes, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen teach about it too. You should know them...they´re internationally recognized. I am sorry mate. But that church is indeed a cult.. Even within the same denomination different churches practise their Christianity in different ways. So you really can't tell OP that they're wrong or don't have their facts right. And I just found out Catholic are in it too i'm a christian. i went to catholic schools all of my young life and have taken more religion classes than i can count on two hands. believing anyone after jesus is a prophet defeats the whole purpose of christianity! christianity is based on the belief that jesus was the last prophet until he comes again and if there is a specific sect of "christians" who truly believe that there is another prophet or a second coming of jesus in this day and age, right now, they are no longer what we call christians to put it simply, whether they use the title or not. that's all i'm saying. also, in regards to protestants: "Most believe a miracle could occur but also believe that God works through human ingenuity and technology to cure illness and relieve suffering. Believers are cautioned against a form of idolatry that invests physicians and medical interventions with more power than they have. Ultimately it is God who is in control" (x) religious cults are formed on the belief that their leader is prophet of some god or a god himself. we really need to distinguish these things. and i'm not saying Bogum is in a cult, but for all we know he could be you know. let's just get the facts straight about current, modern forms of christianity, okay? Yeah I kept asking for proof apart from one random netizen post and was suffered none apart from the video, which didn't show anything irregular.
