A husband saw his wife get killed by a tornado while on FaceTime to each other in the car.

Ruben Porras, 30 was on the phone to his wife, Petra Ruiz, 27, when she was swept to her death as one of the nine tornados that ravished Texas on Saturday passed over her car.

The mother of four was one of eight people to die from the Torando in Garland.

Ms Ruiz was on her way back from the salon on Boxing Day when she FaceTimed her husband at the exact moment a tornado passed over the road she was driving on, reported The Dallas Morning News.

“All of a sudden she just started screaming, then it just went black†Mr Porras told CBS news.

Her car was picked up along with debris and thrown from the overpass to the road below.

Mr Porras used his Find my Friends app to find his wife’s location, where he found her car and crawled inside.

“I grabbed her hand I said Petra wake up. Her hand was cold. I tried to check her pulse, and nothing. It seemed like she died instantly,†he told CBS.

The Dallas Morning News reported that the couple had met on AOL Chat, when Mr Ruiz was 15 and had been together ever since.
