elfyeol 14,275 Posted November 25, 2014 Author Share Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) My thoughts (from what I have seen) on his friendship level with the members: Kyungsoo - When I first got into EXO, I immediately thought that Kyungsoo was the closest to Chanyeol....and I still think that tbh Sehun - Their friendship is underrated imo They also have a lot of moments together predebut and they seem to have fun together Kris (when he was still in EXO) - I really liked their friendship back then...Krisyeol was my brotp.... Baekhyun - I think they get along well together. They aren't super super close nor do they secretly dislike each other...They are good friends just not the best of friends lolol baekyeol is actually my main otp tho Chen - They get along and they can have fun together Kai - Same as Chen (?) (but on a lesser level...) (well actually I think that he's closer to chanyeol than chen) Xiumin - A lot of people say that Xiumin and Chanyeol have no moments together which is untrue People just don't look for them.....they were pretty close predebut as well Luhan - They had a cute friendship (they didn't interact as much as the members listed before, but when they did they were cute together and they liked to sometimes joke around with each other) Also, this is random but Luhan once said that he thinks that his personality is most similar to Baekhyun and least similar to Kyungsoo so maybe there's a secret side to him hahaha Lay - Not much interaction tbh but they don't dislike each other Tao - Their relationship is sort of confusing and Chanyeol may have (?) disliked him at one point (during 2012) but I think that they have gotten past that. Hopefully they grow more closer in the future. Suho - (OMGGG I almost forgot to do Suho sorry ;uuuu;) Chanyeol definitely likes to tease Suho, but they still get along well together. I've been reading everything starting at the first page... one week later I made it to pg #200. YAY! Kyungsoo was my EXO bias, but then I actually took the time to get to know Chanyeol, and after this year learning so much about him as well as the other members, I can honestly say he's my UB and I'll totally support him forever. I'm way older than most of the kpop idols in general (except for TOP in big bang and a few of the guys in SUJU lol) so I don't think of these youngsters as "omg i want to marry him, he's so hot" though they're all very handsome young men and women. I love these idols as I would little brothers and sisters. I cheer them on like that as well. Chenyeol is my UB simply because of the energy and happiness he gives to others. I'm sure anyone of you can just look at a photo, gif, or video of him and it will make you smile or make you feel better if you're upset in anyway... right? Exactly. Now for the question about his friendship/relationship with the other members, for my thoughts: Kyungsoo: It's obvious they are very very close as friends. His posts from his IG sns clearly shows how much he loves and cares about D.O. as any older brother would their younger brother. Chanyeol has even said that he likes singing and performing with him the most out of all of the EXO members. They connect very well musically and have that awesome chemistry together. D.O has said before that Chanyeol makes him laugh the most. Any human being who can feel comfortable being themselves and laughing with someone else they have to be around in their daily lives... yeah, that's how friendship is built. Just think about how long they have been around each other since they first met. Clearly Chanyeol is closest to Kyungsoo out of all of the members. Sehun: I don't know about anyone else, but I noticed after Luhan left, Chanyeol and Sehun were seen together a lot more. Again, back to Chanyeol's IG sns. If you check out the pictures/videos around that time Lu bounced, Sehun comes up a lot. I honestly think Sehun took it the hardest when Lu left. Chanyeol being the caring and considerate hyung that he is, knew this and therefor took Sehun under his wing and was there for him as a friend, and cared for him as an older brother. This definitely brought them closer together and most likely made their friendship and bond as friends more stronger than it was before. Baekhyun: I never once shipped them. Obviously they're friends, but I've never seen a moment that indicated that they were as close to each other as Chanyeol is to D.O or Sehun. They might have been closer to each other before Baekhyun started dating Taeyeon. I'm not bashing Beakyeon either, but it's just basic bro code (bros over hos) and that might have effected their friendship in a way, who knows? From the looks of it, they are good friends and they support each other regardless of whatever. I don't think they've had any bitterness between them either. Just probably missed opportunities. Kris: I've never known or have seen Chanyeol get pissed off (only that time he couldn't catch that chicken on RoomMate) but the post on his IG sns was a clear message to Kris that he wanted him to see. All of the rumors that went on during that time about their phones getting taken away, and Baekhyun getting slapped or whatever were so ridiculous. They were ALL pissed off at Kris for leaving and they wanted everyone to know how they felt. Fans just didn't want to accept what happened and they pretty much did and said ANYTHING they could to make it better. But the harsh reality is that Kris just straight up quit and didn't say a word to anyone about it. I'd be pissed off too. He probably missed him for sure, who wouldn't? You spend a HUGE chunk of your life with someone and being their friend and then they just leave without a word. It was probably hard for Chanyeol, but he pulled through as did the rest of the members. They had an awesome friendship, and you could tell Kris loved Chanyeol's energy and felt comfortable around him the most, from the way they interacted with each other. I hope someday they can reconnect and be friends again. Luhan: Looking back on the IG update from Chanyeol about him going back and watching Ep6 of 'EXO Showtime' from september, we all kinda knew something was up. It was foreshadowing something that none of us couldn't put our finger on, which was Luhan leaving. I don't think they were ever super close to each other, probably because Luhan is older and Chanyeol seems to have a stronger bond with the younger members taking an active role as a hyung. It doesn't mean they weren't friends though. They just probably didn't connect the way they did with the other members. Luhan was closest with Xuimin and Sehun. It seem like they all stick with the ones they are closest too, that they are best friends with. I think Chanyeol definitely respected Luhan as a younger brother. They all knew he was going to leave. Their last show together in China wouldn't have gone as well if they didn't say goodbye on a good note. Suho: Chanyeol loves his leader and has said before that he admires him for the obstacles he's had to endure as a leader, throughout their journey as EXO. He definitely respect Suho and get's along with him. If you saw the footage of Chanyeol giving flowers to Beast, instead of the MC that was leaving (which was a minor mistake he made and apologized for bc HE'S CHANYEOL!), you can see Suho tell him (not angrily) "dude, those were for Yubi since it's her last day... goofball!" ...or something like that haha. If they didn't have a good friendship with each other, Suho would have reacted differently as a leader. You know they have a mutual respect and good friendship. Kai: He's said NUMEROUS times over and over again how much he's a fan of Kai's. You can obviously tell that he really is! He's not afraid to admit that either. To me, it looked like Kai liked that he was his fan, but still weirded out at the same time haha. But they're friends! Kai is younger, Chanyeol loves Kai like a little brother as he does Sehun or DO. It doesn't seem like they have much in common with each other though on the count of Kai being the dancer of the group. Probably why they're not seen interacting with each other that much. They still have a solid friendship though. Chen: I can't even imagine what it's like when these two hang out haha. I've read that they are really good friends and Chanyeol hangs out with Chen a lot too when they have activities together. But since Chen is in EXOM, they don't get to hang out when they have separate activities. The beagle line though!! AND THEY'RE IN A BAND!! I mean...their friendship has to be so brotastical. They probably have a really good friendship as well. Tao: Tao is part of the maknae line in EXO. And again, Chanyeol is a hyung. I haven't seen too much interaction between these two to know what kind of relationship they have with each other. But I have seen plenty of photos from their concerts that indicate they probably have a good friendship and get along. Tao loves all of the members in his own way though. Though it doesn't seem like they are super close, I think they would still have a good friendship as members, and as a family. YiXing: Lay being in EXOM has probably made his bond with Chanyeol not as strong as the members in his subunit. Lay is older than Chanyeol too, so they probably don't hang out as much either. They both love to compose and produce music, but they have very different styles. They might have a lot in common, but they're still different. The part in Showtime where they're playing guitar together, Chanyeol looked like he couldn't take Lay seriously and just thought he was being funny. It may be because they have different personalities haha. You can tell they're are still friends and get along none the less. Xuimin: ...I don't even know to be honest. He's older by like what...4 years? Chanyeol respect him, obviously because Xuimin is older, but just like with Tao, it's hard to indicate if they are close or not. They interact with each other well on Timeslip, and clearly Xuimin is more confident now than he was on Showtime. Dude was soooo quite! I think Chanyeol respects his hyung, but it's probably hard for them to get close seeing as they probably don't have anything in common or hang out as much since Xuimin is in EXOM. Hopefully they can get closer to each other. It probably had to suck for Xuimin when Luhan left. :( those are my thoughts. TLDR- Chanyeol gets along and is closets with the younger members in EXOK. He respects his hyungs and loves them. I'm new to this thread and this is my first post, ever. Two and a half year later he still tries to maintain the enthusiasm and passion from his debut days into his works as an idol . That's good to hear ^^ Also glad I went to vivapolo the day after his birthday instead o_o Sorry putting this under spoiler cos text heavy The walls were plastered with fan letters at the stair entrance along with the famous Chanyeol shrine/wall haha honestly it was kind of freakishly overwhelming when I first walked in. I didn't see Chanyeol's mum when I first got there so I thought maybe she's not there or was inside the staff room. Anyway after my friends and I ordered (they sold out on the pasta ppane ;____;) we were just looking at walls here and there and a few moments later chanyeol's mum went to the booth behind us! (The booth behind us was just opposite the kitchen and was unused so staff was using it) I immediately turned away once I turned and saw her standing there cos I suddenly got nervous LOL why I will never know. Seems like she and the staff were wondering what to do with some of the presents they received yesterday. She then walked back and forth the pathway beside us, stayed at the register doing something then afterwards left holding a few bags. BUT MORE IMPORTANLY, true to what I've read about from other fans, the food is really good, and following their words I would actually come back for the food XD (food is important to me okay) His mum is quite pretty, you can really tell Yoora took after her in looks. Figure and height is similar to myself haha. To summarise the whole experience was rather surreal. But lol that's a bit of an unnecessary comment to a cake I think chanyeol's dad's live cafe might be a cool experience for me too, since rather than a wall of his pictures I get to see his old instruments. I love instruments. XD hopefully I get to check it out.
