J Soul Brothers is rising?

is it me or 3jsb is getting recognition outside the j-fandom? though i am a kpop fan myself, but i've been a silent jpop fan since forever. so when i see others posting gunchan's pictures in my twitter timeline, i wonder if they are attracting more fans.

and even if they are not idols, they do have the idol traits. just a little bit. like really a little bit. but nevertheless, i am happy that they are rising.

They definitely one of the acts that have the most international fans among jpop acts (contemporary pop). Ever since R.y.u.s.e.i. they have been going for this western sound (just as how kpop have been going for this western sound), that's why. And the fact that they are waaayyyyy better performers (professional dancers) than kpop idols makes it easier for kpop fans to stan them.

Edit: I mean, just show these MVs to any kpop fans and I'm sure they will like them or even start stanning them:

i think its just me. somehow so right is more appealing. jsb's edm isn't to my liking though j.s.b dream is definitely one of the music that will attract kpop fans. it'll be nice if unfair world get noticed. i know how ldh is focusing so much on summer madness because of afrojack but throughout 2015, i think unfair world is really nice. aside j.s.b dream of course.

but i am glad to see some actually made an effort to make a research on the japan music industry because unlike kpop, it requires effort to get the resources.

LOL girl, I love JSB's non edm sound. My favorite album from them is Miracle. I wish they would go back to their rnb/midtempodance/ballad/contemporary roots. So Right is one of my faves, so is On Your Mark :rlytearpls:

They reminded me of Tohoshinki(5) with this kind of sound. :rlytearpls:

exactly. i really wish they can just go back to the concept. maybe the reason why i like jsb is because of the similarity of music with db5k? you know the kind of ballad that just stab your soul like hanabi and eternal love

freaking YES. You are not the only one. I'm sure any person who have been into kpop and jpop for a long time (and knows DB5K) will see the similarities between the two. I will forever wait for the moment JSB return to their roots, amen.

Gunchan is especially appealing to Kpop fans. That's one of my observations.

i think its because of his boyish looks but seriously though, i still hear negative remarks regarding his old looks which i think, tbh, those were the hot days

Eh? I thought 3JSB has been rising for at least a couple of years ago or so? Well at least that was my impression of them when they were promoting Spark (fav 3JSB song).

Edit: /smacks self for not reading the OP and replying based on the title.

For me, Gun-chan's visuals was what made 3JSB more appealing to the international fandom. After he changed his hairstyle, I started seeing his pics (more than ever) on Twitter which were posted by mostly non-Japanese people.

I'm happy for them tho I feel like LDH should promote them more outside Japan (some Asian countries at least like SEA) and give them some kind of  tour or international exposure. With the kind of recognition and popularity they have in Japan and more and more people outside of Jpop demographic at least have heard about them, I'm still surprised LDH haven't promoted them internationally or at least they could've easily bagged some gigs at MTV World Stage or any well-known international music festival or event. Sometimes the kind of Japanese acts that usually performat MTV World Stage are irrelevant and that nobody really cares about.

I can't see why LDH isn't doing this for them, yet, they've been promoting GENE outside Japan like Vietnam for fanmeetings, for example.

Takanori saved lives after he changed hairstyle; stopped tanning; shaved; and when stylists stopped smothering him with bronzer.

I mean, who thought this was a good look? @4:43 :har:

Don't get me wrong, I think he looked really good with his older "look" (Hanabi look was smex :hoplz:), but imo his current image and style fit him the best. This current look complements his face the best.

But from my observation, it is Omi who grabs the attention of most non asian international kpop and/or jpop fans.

LDH is polishing them up to be the next EXILE. I'm very fond of them.

If you are talking about the style of the group, their kind of music, I actually prefer EXILE and Sandaime to be different from each other even though they share three members (Naoto, Naoki and Takanori aka Gunchan)

If you're talking about popularity though, at this rate it seems to be bound to happen..... Sandaime will take EXILE baton's if they haven't done it already.

music and popularity wise. sandaime won 2 grand prizes and have highest sales in singles. i love EXILE music more but i'm liking sandamie. i hope generations have great success as well.
