Because of the way LCS runs, it's hard to have ongoing side tournaments in the same region

 

I feel really sorry for any branded professional team in LoL now. The format is just.... So unforgiving especially compared to Their main competitor, DotA.

Yeah, ever since LCS came up the amateur/semi-pro scene has basically crumbled. I understand what Riot was trying to do with LCS, but it seems to have caused some unintentional repercussions that have changed the whole LoL esport scene.

There are still some small tournaments now and then, but they never have LCS teams, so they don't get much attention.
