Since there has been so many threads regarding his stance recently, I thought people might be interested in listening to his own words regarding it all - instead of just reading all the conspiracy theories or Future predictions. If you would rather see a shitstorm brewing from assumptions and entitlement, then this is not the place for you. All I care to do is present his own words in front of everyone. The way you comprehend it for what it is or twist it to fit your own narration is none of my business, so I'm not going to be responding to all the posts in the thread.

I'm not sure how the promotions are going to proceed. However I do know that he has been very active in showing his interest for having a solo album. And he has composed/been composing a lot of songs preparing for an album. He mentioned his wish for a solo album even in the second box. So, it's not really shocking for me. I think it might happen in the latter half of the next year though, because the first half is already full... :o

No, not shocking that he wants one. He obviously has an interest in composing but it's just shocking that he's releasing an album when he's so busy. I remember him saying that his schedule is basically packed until the middle of the year so I'm assuming that it'll come out after that. But I thought he'd just rest or something. Then again, EXO will probably come back again then. So I'm just shocked that it's coming so soon.

If he feels apologetic towards his team members for missing group activities, he can always choose less individual activities, but I guess, right now, this is what him, SM and his team have planned. Good luck with the solo album.

most likely China. I don't think he will release a solo album in Korean.

Pretty sure, SM won't give him a solo album this fast. I think it is just a mere plan from him. Maybe after he is able fully concentrate on EXO's promoton first. But damn I'm touched seeing how big his love towards his members. He never thake his friendship and brotherhood with EXO members for granted! I hope this can be an open-eye for all those people who already predict he would leave EXO. He is not, and he already said it more than once regarding this. Whatever he is doing, I'm rooting dor him and here I am, hoping he would come back promoting with EXO, FULLY, soon >_<

No, not shocking that he wants one. He obviously has an interest in composing but it's just shocking that he's releasing an album when he's so busy. Oooh I see what you mean! He has been /is really busy and his schedule for the first half of the next year is truly very packed. I was hoping that he would get some rest too cuz he has been really working non-stop. But by the looks of it... I dont think he is gonna take any rest orz

Though he had the songs ready, he looked like he was waiting for the go-signal from SM regarding a solo album. So... SM probably has a lot of control over when/where/how he is gonna be releasing the album. I am looking forward to see how the whole thing proceeds!

 

As far as facts go, Yixing said he would be releasing a solo album next year. And from what he said in the EXO second box, SM probably has a certain extent of control over it all.

At this point, i'm okay if he wants to leave or go solo, rather than seeing all these constant fighting between ot8 fans and yixing stans. Yixing will still have haters and exo8 will always be blamed and labelled shady by Yixing stans if they cant mention Yixing in every possible time. it's so fucking tiring tbh, like can't we even have at least a year to see ALL the boys performing together without any scandals or worrying about losing another member?

not tryna fite but i'm p sure exo has had more positive articles and more positive exposure this year thanks to his activities & the way he constantly mentions them...?  but it's cool if u dun wna see cuz it seems like u've alr made up ur mind

I'm quite honestly surprised an EXO member is getting a solo album so soooooon and SM is like....allowing it.  It's pretty exciting but hopefully it'll come after he's ready and rested a bit.

I'm so excited and happy for him, he has always been open about his desire to make a solo album. I'm really satisfied it'll be a self composed album he worked hard for it he totally deserve it.

You sound sad, tired and very entitled and I kinda feel sorry for you. I was wondering if I should actually reply but since you are playing the assuming-game... I wanna play too~~~

 

I assume a lot of things too. And I wanna share my assumptions here because that's what usually everyone does~

 

I see Yixing doing what 6 people were supposed to be doing in China. EXO-M. The subgroup that he is a part of - was supposed to be based in China. That's how it was supposed to be. But then things happened. This is not just another group, this is EXO and it's market was supposed to be both Korea AND China. But from what is left of that subgroup - there is only one Chinese member left. If they wanted to have a shot at it, they would have had to send XiulayChen as M to China for the promotions, but that could only work if they actually learned the language well enough to be able to attend interviews/shows. One Chinese speaking member is barely enough to carry the group forward in interviews. What will become of XiuChen's individual oppurtunities if they were stationed in China. And... If it weren't for EXO-M promoting in China, then OT9 must be shipped there every once in a while to keep the fans appeased but that's not convenient. So what's left of this? The remaining Chinese member being stationed in China. I think that's exactly where Yixing comes into play. Yixing doing his solo schedules while also carrying the label of the group EXO with him.

 

He cannot exactly do the group/song promotions by himself though. No, actually he tried. He did sing and/or performed for call me baby many times even while just giving "solo" interviews. He always makes sure to bring EXO's name with him everywhere. He mentions EXO and his group members every chance he gets. Even when not asked. When he receives awards for his solo endeavours, he makes sure to mention his members. When he goes on red carpet, he writes EXO along with his signature. Everywhere he goes for his solo activities, the people around him also know him as EXO's Lay. That's how he is tagged in random Posts and I'm sure they wouldn't have known about it if he hadn't introduced himself as EXO's Lay.

 

But a person can only do so much. He does carry EXO's name with him. He gets backlash for it, but he still does it. If people aren't interested enough to check EXO out, then that's not "his" shortcoming. He cannot shove it in everyone's face.

 

And Yes, he is doing activities in China for Zhang Yixing. For himself. Ofcourse, he would. That's how things work IRL. This is not a fan fiction. Ofcourse he works for his own career growth in China too. Why wouldn't he. Why shouldn't he. But while doing that, he also brings EXO name with him. He gets backlash for being a member of EXO, but he still proudly wears the EXO tag and brings good will to it. I know a couple of people who checked EXO out just cuz of his participation in GF. I have seen comments from people who said that they assumed wrongly about EXO, and that they would like to give them a chance without prejudice. He brings them positive press. And that's how far it goes.

 

DO not act like the rest of the members participate in individual activities just to promote EXO's name. They are all in it for themselves too. But they donot get questioned by the likes of you because they still promote in Korea. Lel

If Korea was where they were supposed to stationed at, then China was where he was supposed to be stationed at after the formation of the group.

 

He has been doing his best trying to promote the group but if you donot want to see it, then no one can make you see it.

 

He said he wants to do a lot of things. He said he feels sorry for not being able to spend more time with everyone. But he also says that he is Lay and he is Zhang Yixing. And that he couldn't find the balance between everything. And that's how it is. It's that simple. It's not ideal but it is what it is.

 

EXO8 mentioning or not mentioning then is their prerogative. I do not hold it against them just like I do not hold his inability to be present in two different countries at the same time against Yixing. They chose how they wanted to go about it. He chose what he had to do.

 

I do not call exo8 shady and I'm a proud Yixing fan, so think again before generalizing hundreds of thousands of Xingmis.

 

And, yes OT8 fans are always gonna hate Yixing but that doesn't mean Yixing has to leave EXO. He did not work si hard to be / as a part of EXO for so long to leave just cuz some entitled little shits want him to.

 

And If all of this makes you so tired, then try not to be a part of it.
