SM really is shit. but i will be devastated too It would be perfect if she could stay in SM as a singer and SNSD member and sign with another agency as an actress. Frankly, I know SM is pretty shitty but I dont think Sooyoung will quit SNSD to sign for an acting agency. Even tho she is among the most respected idol actors, her recognition is still lacking so she still needs the brand value of SNSD. I am not saying that she needs the group to feed her (I read some mean and harsh comments ... Make me want to kill ...) But I really think she will get more solo opportunities with SNSD than by herself. I Know, I didnt forget how the PD of My Spring Days had to beg to get Sooyoung for the role because SM first refused or even how SM doesnt help much or at all with her career BUT I just can't help and take for example those ex idol groups' members who left for acting and ended up nowhere. She worked too hard and endured so much hate over the years so I dont think she will want to start from the bottom again. And about marriage, it will be great if people stop saying she will quit to get married ... They act like SY's priority is Jung Kyung Ho. She loves her career and is ambitious so really, it is off putting reading those comments. Preach. I don't understand why people treat her like her only job is SNSD and she's not profitable for SM. Girl's got two endorsements for huge brands like SK-II and Cadillac this year alone (I'm not sure about Gucci, but she clearly works with them too). Last year she got Makeup Forever, Bimba y Lola etc. She also worked with Coach, Isabel Marant, Burberry, Double M, Llang any many more brands. And all of those are her individual endorsments, not the group ones(btw, for an 'ugly' idol she endorses a lot of the high end beauty products, take that Knetz ;)). She's in the dramas , she's mc-ing, she's a guest in variety shows. Yet people act like she's sitting in her home with her doggies doing nothing and waiting for SNSD comeback to earn some money. And the fact I can see Actress Choi twice per week for like half of the year . At the press conference, the PD of the drama and Kim Kap Soo (the actor playing Sooyoung's father) said they didnt want it and so, even tho you have some makjang related stuffs like cheating boyfriend and broken family, it is a lot more romcom-ish !? A lot of netizens praised it for being like a sitcom with tons of laughs so dont be afraid. Weekend dramas have a bad rep because makjang dramas are really popular (and outrageous) but there are actually tons of them who are actually amazing. You should check Five Kids and Unexpected You for example. But you are right about the OTP, I am already rooting for them, haha. By the way, I feel like this year is gonna be Sooyoung's. Did you see Sooyoung's and her drama's ranking on Naver ? It is crazy ! She is getting tons of recognition for her acting skills and the drama is getting a lot of love too. Of course, there are still a lot of people bashing her for her looks or for being a SM idol actress but still, they are a minority ! As for the viewer ratings, we will know in about 4 hours but I am confident it is double digits (I hope I am not jinxing it tho lol). Even if it's not a makjang drama per se, I don't think I would watch second episode if it wasn't for Syoo. Maybe that's the reason I don't watch many k-dramas in general (I'm not saying I don't watch it at all or they suck, I just tend to drop majority of them after watching two or three episodes. Maybe I just choose the wrong ones). Plus I would choose a movie over the tv series any time (especially k-movies, they are everything ). But still, I'm glad Sooyoung's chosen this drama. She needs to get recognized as an actress plus it's all about it's all about the experience. And her co-star is . I searched Sooyoung in to the search bar and here I am Hello Sooyoung lovers. It's basically a drama with an extreme and ridiculous plot. Poor girl falling in love with a rich guy, family secrets, swaddled children, separated twins, lovers who turn out to be siblings, memory loss, kidnapping and many many more. And the acting of course. Lots of overreacting, screaming, face slapping, hair pulling etc. MBC is known for this kind of dramas. Makjangs are similar to South American telenovelas/soap operas. Yes, her acting is exaggerated. But this kind of drama requires acting like that. And as much as I prefer more realistic roles for her, she's doing a good job. Like of course her acting is going to be different. MSD is a beautiful and realistic melodrama (there was one weird scene though, that one with milk :D). While everything about MWSTT is over the top. Acting included (and I actually like this drama so far). If they really want to judge her acting why aren't they talking about TPYCK? HahaI don't think that's ever going to happen. SY seems to cherish her privacy. But I'm expecting them to attend MBC drama awards together this year (JKH for Missing 9, All for MWSTT). When it comes to the agency, I don't want Syoo to join JKH's agency.I feel like he deserves better roles and dramas. Sung Yuri is under SL Entertainment.
