Gah, even now, I cant seem to find the strenght to watch the last episode with eng subs. Even though I know it was realistic and much needed as closure, it hurt as hell ...

 

At least, the cast and crew members are pretty satisfied with the result so I am really happy for them Heck, no matter what, never doubt the underdog ! They always find ways to surprise you and I am really happy for all the good reviews and praises it got especially for Sooyoung's performance ! Our girl nailed/slayed/killed it !

I cant wait for her follow up projects (somehow, they need to cast her in a movie with Kam Woo Sung because with their amazing chemistry, it's a sin that the only skinship they had was a peck !!)

 

 

Oh and about the iloveyousheeps tag, she is referring to My Spring Days' fans. I read in a Korean article that fans of the drama called themselves "flock of sheeps" in reference to Dong Ha being the sheperd, haha. Isnt it cute ? :P.

 

Now that the drama is over, I am anticipating the award ceremonies. No doubt for the Rookie Award because heck, MBC will be stupid as hell not to give it to her after all those praises by critics. Best Couple may be difficult because they only give one and FTLY's OTP is the favorite. Whatever, I want her to host the ceremony and hope that Choi Min Soo wont be a mess if he attends. Seeing how he wasnt bothered "humiliating" his co star at the press con of the drama, I am fearing what he is capable of at an actual event full of idol actors --'

Gaaaah, 2014 is such an awesome year for Sooyoung as an actress and MC ! I am so freakin happy and damn it , after watching the video, I cant stop thinking that it is really really amazing how Sooyoung can get along with everyone despite the age difference. Like KWS and her are freakin buddies ! They are just so comfortable with each other, its adorable (another project for them !!)

 

PD and her seem to be really fond of and respect each other a lot and I think its a friendship which will make wonder in the future :D

LOL, someone joked on the soompi thread that Sooyoung could be the next Angelina Jolie not just because of her acting skills/appearance but because of the sexual tension between Kam Woo Sung and her ... It's really because they look like they have the hots for each other on and off screen ... HAHAHA. They were really adorable together during the wrap up party and as usual, Sooyoung was always super happy and all laughs around him. Boy, I am pretty sure that KWS loved her fangirlism so much and that's why he said "“I’ve never experienced a happiness like this before.†XDDDDD

 

Of course, it's just a joke but now, I really can't forget it LMAO. Y'know, it's funny how I had a similar thought after Cyrano ended, especially when Lee Jong Hyuk invited Sooyoung at his fanmeeting as special guest. I guess our girl is really an "ahjussi killer"  . (feel sorry for their wives lol)

Damn, the cast members are spending a lot of time together even after the drama ended especially Sooyoung and Kam Woo Sung (LOL). Or is it about Kang Buk Ja's movie explaining why they meet up again ?

I think I am becoming quite obsessed with ratings nowadays because now, I am even checking Hanbam's ratings XD

They are quite good for an entertaining news program. Latest episode got 7.6%.

Even though I am really glad that she is doing very well with her acting, I really want her to continue MCing shows like Hanbam. Pretty much like (and I have said it a thousand times) Shin Hyun Joon. She is goot at both so it would be such a shame if she had to quit one of them. (AND SCREW THOSE SUPPOSED FANS WHO BASH HER FOR HAVING INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITIES. I can't believe they blame her whereas she finally got acknowledged (by Knetz/critics/...) for her talents 7 years after debut)

 

Seriously, don't you feel that getting casted on Hanbam was some kind of lucky charm/stepping stone for her career as a whole ? Because ever since 2012, she has been really busy with dramas/hosting shows ... etc.

And LOL, from what I heard, as a MC for Hanbam, she is getting paid weekly, pretty much like a worker's wages. One of the reporters of KBS's Entertainment Relay (Hanbam's rival) says that because you are getting money on a regular, you can't quit because you love it XD.

 

GAH, I just hope she is going to host MBC Drama Awards and wins Best Rookie     !!

btw, does Hanbam have better ratings than it's rivals? 

 

Believe it or not but it's really complicated because their ratings aren't stable at all. Sometimes, you will have 10% for an episode and the next one will have 5% lol.

But based on the latest ratings, KBS's Entertainment Relay and SBS's Hanbam are fighting each other even if KBS wins most of the time (their latest ratings had 8.3%) and for MBC, they are dead last. Their ratings are usually around 3-5%.

And one of the reasons is because KBS's ER is older compared to SBS's HB and MBC's Section TV. So they have a "familiar" audience or it might be because of the timeslot airing ? LOL.

 

Overall, Hanbam is doing well on its own. Entertainment news program aren't bound to have high ratings like news programs or variety shows. Plus, I do believe that Sooyoung and Yoon Do Hyun are really close with the staff members/production after spending more than 2 years together so it's safe to say that she may be a MC for the show for a longtime if she wants to. I just hope she won't quit it to focus more on SNSD or her acting career like so many other celebrities did. I get that health is important but yeap', Hanbam is really her lucky charm and as I already pointed out, it's something "regular".

Gah, it's so so so sweet of her to still visit Park Seung Il after all those years. (HOW IN THE EARTH CAN YOU HATE/BASH ON THAT AMAZING HUMAN BEING, HUH ?)

But damn, I can't imagine what's on his mind living day after day like that. He must be hella brave and positive ... If I understand, Yang Dong Geun and her are members of some kind of association in relation with PSI's disease ? If I remember it was something like "Hope Youth Seung Il" ? It's kinda cool.

 

And OMO, one of my favorite TV pairings !! Yoon Do Hyun and Sooyoung are seriously so good together. 18-19 years of difference but their chemistry is fantastic. I hope they will host Hanbam for a long long time.

It reminds me that SBS Entertainment Awards gives Best Couple for TV too. If she doesn't win with Kam Woo Sung for the MBC Drama Awards, she better win with YDH lol. (I am still rooting for Easy Brothers of Running Man though  )

No but seriously, I am relieved they are getting along so well together. So many times, people were disappointed after working with their favorite actors because the image they had of them were just so different whereas, here, it's like finding some kind of "acting soulmates", haha.

 

Anyway, it seems that the director/scriptwriter and the two leads were having some kind of private dinner ? I guess all of them must have been happy working with each other, its kinda awesome and its always a pleasure to see Sooyoung in fangirl mode around Kam Woo Sung XD.

But seriously, where did she take the video ? The bedroom looks so "simple", like the bedroom of any girls/young women so I am guessing she is at her parents' home in her old/current bedroom ? IS SHE STILL STAYING WITH THEM EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS BOUGHT A BIGASS AND EXPENSIVE VILLA ? Please, don't give me more reasons to love her lol. I just love when someone is really family-like.

Plus, bias aside, she really is one of the most down to earth idols on the KPOP's world and a big part of it is because of her closeness with her family.

 

Yesterday, I felt bored and I ended up watching in replay SNSD's DAUM CF where they play cops. This is where I knew that she would be a great actress in the future. It's not about being delusional/biased or whatever but in that tiny CF and tiny role, she just rocked the cop role. The expression, the outfit, the charisma ... She just exuded a great air of confidence, like you would expect from a cop/detective so yeap'. After a medical drama, romcom and melodrama, she has to do a thriller. Of course, no running scene because LOL but yeap'. Some kind of dark stuff would be great for her to be more acknowledged as an actress and to challenge her acting chops :D

In today's episode, Hwang Jung Min has said that despite having a boyfriend, Sooyoung is still his ideal type and that Yoon Do Hyun is really lucky because he got to see her every week XD.

Gosh', it would be amazing if she acted with him in a movie. He is a wonderful actor and for the laughs, I just realized that in the (in)famous Win Win's episode, Sooyoung got to act with Kim Seung Woo who was the host, in Third Hospital and more recently, Kam Woo Sung in My Spring Days. I am telling you, it's too much coincidence for not being fate LOL.

You didn't know ? Y'know that episode of Win Win when Sooyoung said that Kam Woo Sung was her favorite movie actor ? HJM was the guest in the episode and Sooyoung was his "secret guest" because back then, he declared a lot of times that he was a fan of her.

It was pretty entertaining because when she asked him for acting advices, he asked her for her phone number to meet for "private tutoring" LOL. It was pretty hilarious when he hugged her because he was just so freakin' happy that he went right away without shame. She was shocked :P

 

Whatever ... Girl, get the ahjussis XD.

You don't mind his age then ? He is a 1970er like Kam Woo Sung   (frankly, I may be in the minority but most Korean actors born in 1970 are really handsome/hot. Cha Seung Won is another perfect example   and lol, he is also "related" to Sooyoung XDD)

Gosh', don't talk to me about it ! Mine just ended last week and daamn it, even with painkillers, I suffered so much !

I wanted to strangle my father so bad when he told me that he knew how painful the period could be because he had two wives 

 

On a different topic, am I the only one rewatching My Spring Days ? I don't watch the full episodes again but some parts that I like and remember fondly lol. I just can't stop loving Sooyoung's flawless performance and of course, her amazing chemistry with KWS.

I have to admit though that I have a hard time watching the last episode. I livestreamed so I know what's going on but I can't seem to watch it again with subs. LOL, I don't even know if I am going to watch that episode ever again. I think I am just going to do it à la How I Met Your Mother : acting like that finale never existed XD.

 

OMO, after reading the sypnosis for an upcoming KBS drama called Unkind Women on dramabeans, I immediately thought of Sooyoung XD. If I remember, they need an actress for the daughter and another for the granddaughter so Sooyoung could play a "real mother" this time, haha. No but seriously, even though KBS is a rating loser those days, the storyline seems pretty awesome and it's a 24 episodes format so no more "ONLY 16 EPISODES ?!!" for Sooyoung lol. And we've got a lot of talented veteran actresses (funny thing is that the one playing the matriach or whatever is the one who played the mother of Won Bin in the movie "Mother". I don't know but I thought it was hilarious (pff.)

Sooyoung is so going to rock the stage. She has worked with Shin Dong Yup a few times already so they already have chemistry together but I gotta say that I am anticipating their interactions a lot more after he complimented her last year when she was getting the award for Best New MC.

Wait what ? She isn't nominated for Best New Actress ? How so ? Damn it finally, I don't think she is going to win anything. Popular Actress will most likely go to Jang Nara because her two dramas are top rated for MBC. Best Couple for Fated To Love You's OTP because it is a pairing really popular and Drama of the Year will go to Jang Bori is Here. They almost get 40% ratings.

Well, at least, she got to host the ceremony so it isn't that bad but I am so disappointed ...

 

Seriously, it's super weird she isn't nominated for that award. Even some Knetz were sure that she will win the award.

Even though they acted for years, actors and actresses like Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Woo, Baek Jin Hee ... etc received the Rookie Actor. Gosh', I was so happy imagining her giving a meaningful and tearful speech as always. I am so crushed. I feel like MBC is doing it because they know that she would have won. It's not even a Best Actress Award but a freakin' Rookie one ! I know I am hypocrite by giving so much importance for a mere award which most of time aren't even based on acting skills but y'know, when it's your freakin' underrated and underexposed bias getting it, you just feel happy because it's like "No more cloudy days for her".

You guys, I think there is still hope for Sooyoung to win a "Best New Actress" award

 

The news that you just heard about "My Spring Days" being nominated for "Drama of the Year" / Popular Actor & Actress" / "Best Couple Award" are most likely based on fan votes, since you see an option on MBC site: LINK for fans to choose. If you notice, only those three categories are shown on the site (you don't see other drama award categories like "Best Actor/Actress, Best New Actor/Actress, or Best Child Actor/Actress, Best Writer, etc,...). Therefore, it seems that those three categories shown on the site are most likely based on fans votes, whereas the other categories are most likely chosen/reviewed by critics. So, it seems like "My Spring Days"  were only nominated in three categories, but they are most likely nominated in other categories, but not reported. Also, looking at past MBC Drama Awards, they usually give two awards away for "Best New Actress": LINK

 

and this statement was also released for 2014 MBC Drama Awards:

 

"It has also been said that MBC will be getting rid of joint awards, in which there is more than one recipient, with the exception of the rookie award and the Golden Acting Award." (but they didn't mention who was nominated or anything): LINK

 

I might be wrong, but I see hope. I would find it weird if Sooyoung didn't recieve a "Best New Actress" award. I mean, "My Spring Days" received a lot of praise (along with the writer and actor/actresses). Sooyoung was excellent in portraying her character and was praised for her acting by veteran actors/actresses as well as professional critics. I will be disappointed if she didn't though (or recieve any awards). Well, let's hope she does though

Yay, I looked at last year winners and they usually give four Best Rookie Award (two for male and two for females) so I was sure that Sooyoung will get one of them but then, I read that news. Whatever, I am still hoping then. Some people are such idiots. I cant believe they are hatin' on Sooyoung with stuffs like "she is using him for publicity" "so fake" ... etc.

At least, I am glad that she keeps visiting him even if she gets unnecessary hate. I really dont know how she does it though. Well, I guess she doesnt care anymore. Its like when she is taking selcas with other people. Usually, female celebrities make a fuss about having their head looking bigger than others and so they will try to stay further and further away from the camera whereas Sooyoung is all cool about it . She knows she always get backlash about her big head so yeah she is all "stfu haters !"

 

But yeah, it is sad how she can be so easily hated even by doing such a good deed. Gah, I guess she will win them over with time. At least, it seems that a majority kind of changed their opinion about her thanks to MSD and her MCing works.

Actually, I was more thinking of Inetz than Knetz in this one because the comments werent bad at all on the Korean article. Majority and most upvoted comments supported Sooyoung saying that she was one of the few to stand by him since 2010, even giving links to prove it with articles and pictures.

So yeap I was more upset over some allkpop users which I know I shouldnt be surprised by the ignorance of

12 years old girls lol but still, it makes me angry to read such comments. Like they were saying "ok if you go visit him but why upload it on SNS ?" "even if it was his desire, he is still a sick patient so she is using him"

Basically, because PSI is sick anyone visiting him shouldnt get any pictures with him online because it is not right to be seen with someone sick ... ARE THEY F*CKIN KIDDING ME ? This is downright discrimination. Patients are humans too. I am pretty sure that they are fed up with all the pity that people give them.

Plus, Yang Dong Geun who is part of the Seung Il foundation chose her because he knows how supportive she is with the cause. If she was using him for publicity stunt, he wouldnt even dare calling her name.

 

And I really didnt want to bring Yoona into this but you are right , has it been her , people would have say some cheesy stuffs like "as expected of Angel Yong" No one would doubt her intentions because she is just so pretty.

Y'know it is like the comments for her MCing of KBS Gayo Daejung. They were all saying how she was chosen each year because she is pretty and popular but when it is Sooyoung it is because SM forced PDs to accept her. I am not blaming Yoona at all because heck, thats freakin stupid to do so but you gotta admit that in many way, she has it easier than Sooyoung because of her looks. I remember getting into an argument with some users not long ago when I said those very same words. He was saying it is not true because she had to work hard to erase her "pretty but talentless doll" image but he completely missed the point because for years, people have given chances to her , it was up to her to prove them wrong. If she failed to do so, it was her own initiative whereas Sooyoung always get bashed. It is only when she got to prove them wrong with her skills that some apologize and recognize they were just mean oriented.

GAH, I am really sorry for her fans if one of them read that. If I offended someone in any way, it really wasnt my intention but yeap, I hate how Sooyoung has to work so much harder for people to appreciate her works. What happened to the Anti's Darling and Cheerful Princess ? Now that she is finally getting recognized for something other than the funny girl persona, she is getting hate ? Damn it. Sorry for the rant guys especially prettyangel, I feel like I am using this thread as some kind of diary lol. But yeah, I had to let it out. I just want the 30th to be soon for her to shine and kick some as*es on stage xD. Seriously does anyone know if Choi Min Soo is coming ? I really dont want him to embarass Sooyoung in any way. Although Shin Dong Yup will be there to defend her, he is quite unpredictable ...
