im all for funny interactions between group members (i like seeing Key and Minho interact cuz they argue and shit)

but i find shipping odd

like do you read/write fanfiction, watch otp videos, delude yourself into actually thinking that they belong together, yadayadayada...

sorry if this thread has already been made  :._.:

I don't take it seriously at all. but I love the interactions in a friendship way, so that's what I end up being a fan of. I definitely don't go around parading about them belonging together and shutting down anyone who believes otherwise. but I will happily buzz about a friendship that seems to be there.

I don't. I ship my biases on bromance level only.

I ship yoona and jessica together but as friends not in a delulu kind of way like they're meant for each other .

I read fanfics for fun and laugh my ass off after.

So no i don't take it that serious.

Because behind the cameras i really don't know anything about them.

I don't take it seriously. I think that the 2NE1 girls look cute whenever they are together (especially CL and Dara XD) but I don't actually think they're secretly dating/fucking each other, I don't read or write fanfiction (except for a troll fanfiction I posted on Asianfanfics, that I deleted when I had my fair share of lulz because of all the horny fangirls that didn't realize I was making fun of them), and I don't watch OTP videos.

Obsessive shipping is creepy... if I were a singer I'd find the inevitable fanfics and videos about me and some random girl or guy quite disturbing.

Not very. I read fanfiction sometimes (if it's actually well-written enough to be believable), and reblog cute photos/friendship moments of my OTP. That's about it. I don't really like enforcing a detailed fantasy about something for which I have no idea of its veracity.

Not really.

It's mostly a for fun-thing for me.

I do like to spot cute interactions.
And I might've read a couple of fanfics.

But it's not like I really think they're a couple or soulmates or whatever.

It's just kinda fun to imagine.

Honestly, I always thought it was like that for most people..

I've come to realise that shipping is only fun when you don't take it seriously.

I don't think it's a problem if people enjoy seeing their OTP interact and read/write fic about them, but it always seems to veer off quickly into tinhat territory and then nobody wins.

IMO, shipping is by definition a creative interpretation; by "shipping" you admit you're being forceful. That's different from thinking there's really something between two people, paucity of evidence notwithstanding. Trouble occurs when the two get mixed up. I enjoy a bit of fanfiction when it's well-written and the pairing is at least slightly plausible.

I find it hilarious when extreme shippers ship their ships really hard and when you call them out they be like 'It's just for fun, wyh are you so serious?' Um really now? You are the one who actually thinks your ship is going to get married, you are the one forcing that ship on everyone, talking about being serious...
