Cosmic Girls did NOT claim to be the female exo

According to this article, upcoming girl group WJSN/Cosmic Girls talked about being the female EXO and not losing their chinese members.

But..? Koreaboo used a tweet the company retweeted as "proof" saying the girls claimed to be the female exo. Yet, this was all lost in translation and Koreaboo did not word things correctly at all.

The translated bit of the article says  "there are lots of netizens stating that wjsn could become like exo in terms of the chinese members leaving. but in contrast to exo, wjsn is under not only starship but a chinese company so there is a less chance of that happening."

Netizens claimed this, not the company nor the girls themselves.

Now, EXO-Ls are taking to social media to bash Cosmic Girls, though they never did anything wrong. This was all a big fuss over nothing, and Koreaboo took it too far with their unreliable posts.

Thoughts?

Fans have definitely been comparing Starship Entertainment‘s upcoming girl group with popular male group EXO, but netizens are criticizing the group for promoting the comparison.

In addition to being a large group of twelve members, Cosmic Girls also boasts Chinese members, making it easy to compare them with SM Entertainment group EXO.

However, netizens pointed out that the group was using the comparisons as media play, adding that the group even retweeted an article calling Cosmic Girls the “female EXO†using their official Twitter account. The article also includes a quote from the group, who said that they will see if they were able to keep their Chinese members, something that EXO has failed to do. http://www.koreaboo.com/netizens/upcoming-girl-group-cosmic-girls-under-fire-for-using-exo-as-media-play/

is this true? is this true that they retweeted an article on their official twitter account, an article that said " .... able to keep their Chinese members, something that EXO has failed to do" ?

I have no problem if some call them female EXO, but is really low and insensitive to mention members departure, saying  "exo has failed to keep them". None has left because of Exo.

This is Koreaboo, don´t trust them blindly.

Now, EXO-Ls are taking to social media to bash Cosmic Girls,

Honestly, it´s too pretentious of a rookie group that is still a pre-debut team to say that, so try to understand EXO-Ls.

Ran out of upvotes

Can you post ACCURATE proof that proves Starship nudged them?

uh that's part of what mediaplay is all about?  planting articles like this where it "doesn't look like it came from the company" but in fact it does??????? r u new 2 kpop.  like all those ~magical articles comparing seolhyun to suzy, talking about seolhyun being the next nation's first love didn't DIRECTLY come from FNC but we all know for a fact it 100% came from FNC lmao.

yall can neg me all u want but it's true lmao

No. The article that had claimed to say it in fact never mentioned what was claimed, instead the only part where it mentioned exo was "there are lots of netizens stating that wjsn could become like exo in terms of the chinese members leaving. but in contrast to exo, wjsn is under not only starship but a chinese company so there is a less chance of that happening."

than EXO-L are right.

The admin. of their page shouldn't have done this.

I understand they use EXO for media play, but they should avoid touching sensitive issues.

I will check their official page to see if they had the decency to delete it or they are doing on purpose.

Is easy to hide behind someone's article and say " we didn't claim anything, just post on our official page what others write" :)

We all know how mediaplay works, esp among companies wanting to get thier rookies names out there, and ofc not every article gets translated, so more articles in Korean come out daily than we are aware of. I just asked a Korean fan about the articles posted on Instiz/Naver and they said its true about Starships mediaplay tactics (Korean exo-l were upset and complaining about this before koreaboo even posted about it).  Idec about them calling themselves the female exo, but Starship didnt just RT the first article about being called female exo but they also reposted the link --- for noise marketing and using EXO-M's characters in thier logo.

They shouldnt have used EXO's name in that way to begin with. I dont hate cosmic girls but (them or their company) bringing up what happened with the ex-members isnt necessary and that's crossing the line.

Its a bit tiring having people constantly say exo-ls are overreacting every time we speak up, like you expect people to just stay quiet and not say anything?
