^I don't necessarily think it's super bad if she gets pushed to the back, because that means a better chance of being remembered by people when debut time comes around :smile: Some of the girls who got revealed super early carry the risk of being forgotten by the time they debut, unless they really made a strong impression.

^ I hope that will be the case, but I'm still worried. Like right now the hype for teaser pictures has died down considerably (I don't blame them because the surprise factor has worn out) and people only get excited again when there's something new like a video or magazine shoots released. So while being last might help them to stay fresh in people's mind but then there are less casual fans care about them at this point.  :._.:

 

Then again this is just the beginning. Maybe Starship keep her and Dawon last so that everyone will be taken aback when they snatch weaves left and right with their talents.  :ohla:

Good points.. :._.: I guess for now, all we can do is believe in her and Starship. After debut, Mei Qi is actually the one in the Chinity that I'm least worried about because she's strong with vocals so they'd better utilize that. Cheng Xiao's obviously rising in popularity as well and they should notice that, but I'm more worried about her and especially Xuan Yi being snubbed on screen time, limelight etc. Of course, all the girls matter and no one is asking them to be put the Chinity on an extra high pedestal compared to the other members, but I just hope it doesn't turn out like some unfair Junjun/Linlin state, which happens a lot...

'美' means 'beauty'/'beautiful'. It's the same character in Mei Qi's name. '美美哒' ('mei mei da') is just online slang used to refer to someone who looks very beautiful. Basically, '美美哒' is a cuter-sounding way of saying it. More moe, I guess LOL.

Someone please bless us with a Mei Qi fancam :rlytearpls: I know it's mostly Cheng Xiao blowing up right now with her dance/flip, but Mei Qi really shined as a dancer as well. I would love to see a fancam that focuses only on her.

Hi Purple, long time no see.

 

Ikr? How could nobody film her Catch Me performance? :rlytearpls: I can't take my eyes off her during the whole performance (except for Cheng Xiao's flip). Her dancing skills blew me away, I didn't expect that she's such a powerful dancer. Her hair flip was so glorious too.

Hey Sooshi <333 I agree. There's something very charismatic and magnetic about her stage presence that I really like too!

Alright, so when I was watching MOMOMO MV, after looking out for my bae Xuan Yi, next was Mei Qi and I was also sad at how shafted she was :cry: hardly a line, and barely any screen time </3

BUT THEN. I watched Catch Me performance and THIS. She's definitely the main shining gem here:

After that, I was like never mind~ it's all good :derp: 

Y'all, let's wait a bit because I think they'll really let her take the limelight in Catch Me MV. (Well, they better. If not, then we can really go ahead with the #justiceforqisus thing.)

They don't even give any C-members more lines in the Mandarin version so I'm not sure her screentime will be much better in CM. At least she got to dance in the center for a few times so that's still better than MMM. She's destined to be the underpromoted member this era, I can feel it. Her time will come though.  :lol:

 

I saw your comment about your disappointment at the chinese version. For me, I prefer the chinese version because their voices sound much less grating compared to the korean version. The advantage of not understanding the language, you can enjoy the song without getting distracted by bad pronunciation  :hurr:  I'm dying to hear the Chinity's version of the song though, with proper pronunciation and all.

The pronunciation is painful, you don't even know. :rlytearpls: By the time Xuan Yi's line finally comes along, it's so gratifying to my ears. Before, I never paid attention to people who called WJSN as female EXO but now I'm just like. Okay. When it comes to Chinese pronunciation,  that statement is so true LOL. If they're going to continue doing Chinese versions, I hope they switch up the line distribution, or maybe the girls will improve.

With regards to SM's Chinese songs, the problem is not only the pronunciation (I love Chen's voice, but even in EXO-M, a good chunk of main vocals still go to the Korean members with accents), but also the ridiculous lyrics that send me running for the hills.

 

Miss A wins the K-pop scene in terms of Chinese versions of songs. :megusta: (IMO so far.)

 

I'm glad though. Thanks to Yuehua's involvement in this group, the Chinese lyrics for MMM at least turned out decent and makes sense. Translation of the chorus is hella cute and well done.
