"There are only three things that need to be accomplished before the devil comes home. One of them is homesexuality being legal in countries, one of the them is abortion and the other is paedophilia. Who would have thought in 50s and 60s that those first two would be legalized?" and “I believe a woman’s best place is in the kitchen and on her back. That’s my personal belief. Making me a good cup of tea, that’s what I believe.†There was a +100k petition to remove him from the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award poll but he wasn't. Despite this petition and the backlash towards his comments, ranging from fellow athletes to news reporters, he still garnered a lot of votes. These are the results of the poll: He came fourth and only 7000 votes behind Jessica Ennis-Hill, who he made questionably disparaging comments about. He did also give an apology at the event. ps. The fact he has the audacity the put pedophilia out of all things on the same level as gay marriage and abortion makes me fucking sick.
