Deferred?

So I recently applied EA to a University in November. This school had been my #1 choice. Because of finals, I didn't think about my admission status till now. When I checked they basically said to try for RD.

My problem is, should I? I'm not as excited about the school as I used to be, so why bother? Then again there's that "what if" possibility. It seemed more People got deferrals than rejections. I also looked at the stats of those in the same situation as me, I am way off the scale (at least for this Uni). I want to go for it, but I guess part of me is scared considering the only good thing I had going for me was my essay.

Any advice?

when you get deferred, you don't have to reapply. you are automatically considered in the rd pool. so if you don't really care about the school anymore, just don't do anything. maybe you'll get in, maybe you won't. but you won't have to do anything else unless you really want to go to this school and send in extra material

I was under the impression that if you get deferred, you automatically get put into the regular decision pool. Does this university require you to submit a secondary application? If it's automatic, I would say just leave the app and see what happens come March

Edit: I do actually think that if you have any extra new material that will help your application, you should submit it.It worked for me!

Thanks, I was a little confused on where to take it from there. I'll probably think about it more since the school recommends submitting another transcript.

Thanks, they do ask for more supporting materials that can assist in the process.

ah, i see what you mean. yeah, you should probably send in your latest transcript after this semester, in fact i thought it was required. i think just send in that transcript with the other transcripts you will be sending for regular decision
