To focus on acting. Acting is more lucrative and is something he could do even as he ages. He wants to be known as an actor and not as an "idol who acts"

That depends, plenty of singers in China carry on well into their 40s, 50s and even 60s , taking the loyal fanbases with them and making plenty of money through concerts. Also, if the voice holds up there's an argument for saying singing is more reliable when looks fade due to age than acting, since movies are so reliant on visuals. Of course, I'd imagine he'd have to change his musical style as he got older but I dont see why he cant do both and get the best of both worlds.

Thing is, I don't consider Han Geng to be in that realm of iconic singers. The whole visual argument is highly skewed towards young actors. Aging actors continue to take roles that match their age group and are able to do so since they've built up their portfolios as being actors - regardless of their looks. Han Geng wants to build that resume so that he can continue to act when he's old. He's not a bad singer, but he's also not Andy Lau (and we all know he's spending more time on the big screen nowadays so that's probably a bad example). Han Geng is definitely taking the safer route IMO.

Yeah maybe, I dont really know which one he'd be more successful at when hes in his 40s but good luck to him either way.
